I was on a video podcast with some friends, friends! We talk about Showing vs. Telling, it's a great conversation, and I had a blast with Spencer and Sam.
So listen up and join in the conversation in the comments, and/or comment here!
Forgot to post this morning over here, @KyleLeeWriter joined Sam and I to talk about everyone's favorite debate: Is it better to Show or Tell as an author? What's the debate like from a reader's perspective? Come find out!

My career advice is just do it. Make it. Say it. Bring it to life. Whatever it is. The crazier your idea, the bigger risk, but bigger reward. There are plenty of people who warn, even threaten, to keep you in control. The world is filled with the you shouldn't do that folks. They're not your audience, and the world is bigger than their echo chambers. You don't need their acceptance or permission. Just yours.
I’m sorry, but if I walk into your restaurant and I can’t smell food, my ass is walking right back out.
As a movie nerd I’m often asked for recommendations, so I’ve decided to recommend a movie I’ve rated a 9 or 10/10, one each day
Daily movie recommendation number 167:
Flipping to the less widely seen, it's another 1988 movie, expanded as part of Kieslowski’s Dekalog project, A Short Film About Killing!

#writingcommunity whenever you’re struggling to come up with character names, just remember there are tons of weird names out there for real people, maybe don’t stress so much about it.

Toshiro Mifune’s performance in this is my favorite of his 16 collaborations with Kurosawa, and in my top ten lead actor performances ever. Mifune was an actor of great power and dynamic energy, and the way he honed his work here, giving his quietest, most grounded performance, it’s extraordinary.
Sadly their last project together, as Mifune was angry at having to have the big beard for this movie, throughout it’s troubled on-and-off production, making him miss out on a lot of money by not being able to take roles in other movies.
