You won’t find anything more in depth than this I bet! An essential read on an essential fight.
Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili set to settle the score. Their final 5 rounds produced a dramatic, one of highest-level fights you’ll ever see - and to call it impressive from both would be an understatement even as I wrote about it.

Almost makes me feel bad for Matchroom this, all those years of work to obscure his adverse drug tests and elevate him to world title level fights based on nothing but his surname and within one fight away he’s been reduced to shouting into the void at the corpse of McGregor. Sad

There was a bareknuckle boxer in the 1770s called Stephen Oliver who was simply nicknamed "Death".
At first read, you'd assume it was cause he was terrifying. Maybe a massive puncher, maybe an intimidating character.
But apparently its just cause he looked really unwell lmao

Frank Childs defended his claim to the "Black Heavyweight Championship" #OnThisDay in 1899 by KO'ing Klondike Haynes in Round 3 of a scheduled 6 at the Chicago AA in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune reported that Childs, aka "The Crafty Texan", dropped Haynes "like a log" with a left uppercut and Haynes was counted out by referee Joe Choynski as he struggled to rise.
