Hi!
We’re here to hold power accountable!
We make no exceptions for ideology.
If you’re moderate, center left, or left, but abuse your power, we’re calling you out.
Dear candidates,
Don’t go on other campaigns pages and start attacking them one week before your election (even if they’re in a different race).
Focus on your own race, and also don’t let everyone know that you’re desperate.
Pro tip:
If you’re a senior elected official, it’s a very bad look to go out of your way to bully grassroots leaders who are normally your allies but don’t agree with you 100% of the time.
Demanding 100% loyalty is never a good look.
Dear candidates/electeds,
I would not advise you to go on a rant in front of 30-40 people attacking candidates in other races, especially if supporters of said candidates are in the room.
Also, if you’re supposedly safe but attacking your opponent, how “safe” are you?
This morning is a good reminder of that the “enemy of your enemy” is not necessarily going to be your friend.
Aligning with someone just because you hate the same person (and no other reason) doesn’t always work out…
Hi!!
It doesn’t matter if you’re moderate or progressive.
If you’re an elected/candidate and endorse/speak in favor of a candidate credibly and publicly accused of sexual misconduct, that is disqualifying and you shouldn’t be elected either.
Bass probably wins but Nithya is doing well right now.
Look at FL and MI too.
We aren’t necessarily happy with those results.
But anyone who thinks the moderate/Thrive LA wing is surging in the LA area is very wrong. If anything, it’s the progressives.
Worried your campaign is losing?
Here’s an idea:
1. Create a fake troll account attacking yourself.
2. Blame your opponent for making it (don’t provide evidence they made it, no one serious will ask).
3. Send that to a right wing news outlet. They’ll run it.
Political grifters are the worst.
People can evolve on policy over a long period of time, they don’t in 1-2 months.
If someone suddenly shifts from being progressive to being an establishment person, grifter alert!
Our least favorite people in LA politics:
People who endorse because they’re petty, not because they align on policy.
Policy outcomes affect thousands of people, petty only benefits you.
Put others ahead of yourself.
It’s very sad when several “hardcore Democrats” would rather vote for a very anti labor anti renter backed candidate compared to a pro labor/pro renter candidate because the latter “wasn’t nice to me at an event.” 🙄🙄
If workers and renters don’t matter to you, that’s your right to hold that view. Just don’t call yourself “progressive.”
There is a large segment of people in LA politics who need to read #10….
Replying to @BeBetterMan_
9. That "safe" corporate job is jail even if the paycheck is comfortable. Golden handcuffs are still handcuffs.
10. The grudge you're holding is damaging you more than the person you refuse to forgive.
Candidates for office:
Do not get into online arguments!
If you do, it’s a really bad look to delete your opponent’s comments, especially if the opponent brought up data showing why your argument is incorrect.
If one works for an org that makes endorsements and support a major endorsee’s opponent, it would be very stupid to positively comment on the opponent’s social media during work hours and then attend the opponent’s fundraiser.
Unfortunately some do it anyway. 👀👀
