Just finished reading @SarahLouMiller wonderful book The Lancaster Story. I pretty much read it in one sitting, it is a compelling and moving account of the aircraft, the men and women who built them, maintained them, and fought and died in them. Highly recommended. #histbookclub

A fascinating Morning at Caernarfon Castle visiting the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum. Some amazing artefacts from their very rich history from 1689 to the present day including Lt-Col Doughty-Wylie VC of Gallipoli fame Medals, Siegfried Sassoon's Pistol.
Very friendly staff too!

This book captures two very different sides of Walter Stitt's WWII experience: the toned-down version he shared with family and the raw, terrifying details of serving as a tank loader and gunner.
