There were dual time pressures on the Cons to 'pique the interest' of Cheshire Police; to deflect away from #LucyLetby's condemning grievance outcome against them and also to prevent further Coronial investigation of other indictment cases. The egregious plan worked. On both counts

18 distinguished experts including senior public health directors, statisticians, and neonatologists say the Lucy Letby case was built on ‘unsuitable expert advice, junk science and fake statistics.’ Their briefing paper concludes the convictions may be a miscarriage of justice.
Read it.

NEW FOI INFO - The CPS admits its lawyers ruled that the obstetric records in the Lucy Letby case largely could NOT assist the defence, so withheld them.
Numerous obstetricians post-trial have pointed to the vital nature of these notes. (1/8)

Surely there can be no further evidence. There sufficient evidence already disproving the claims of Lucy’The few naysayers on here will never shift their beliefs. Even if Dewi Evan’s were to admit his ‘evidence’ was a figment of his imagination, they’ll hold on to their beliefs.

Where do Lucy Letby myths - and there are many - actually come from?
The always excellent @AnneBoleynBooks has diligently excavated two more pieces of pure bullshit. Vapourfacts sometimes spread by a podcast whose company was paid by Cheshire Police.

Agreed. The fact it was also the Cheshire Police again is staggering. The CPS should be sceptical of any charges for complex cases they put before them.

How many years of obstetric training does a grade 7 Senior Crown Prosecutor have in order to determine if these medical records are helpful to the defence???
Stitched up from the beginning.

Very premature babies stay alive because of continuous life support in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
They should not be portrayed as Well & Stable, when their lives are on a knife edge, depending on Intensive Care

New evidence coming to light on air embolism cases. Strengthens Letby claims, I’m told. As result - delaying Dr Dewi Evans full interview out of fairness.

Pardon my ignorance, but the blood test with high insulin low c-peptide was taken when Lucy Letby was not on shift for baby F, so what exactly is the criteria for "suspicious event" on this baby?

One baby's insulin result from August 2015 was never checked a second way, and the sample is gone.
It frames the rest of the Letby case.
Here's why it matters, where the science stands, the part that goes against her, and how it could still be answered.

Yes: and unlike other HSK bogeymen, Ms Letby was strikingly reluctant to develop a consistent MO, so you would expect more error and more residual evidence, therefore.

When you are in confirmation bias mode things that ought to be falsifiers become positive evidence: that a defendant was not seen, left no fingerprints or implicating forensic evidence becomes proof of her chilling sophistication in avoiding detection and covering her tracks.

There’s an even glaringer one: instead of profiling at an early stage to narrow down the range of potential suspects—the limited case where profiling is useful—Prof T uses it ex post facto to justify an existing suspect: this is ripe for confirmation bias.
