Thank you to @FiLiA_charity for inviting me to defend the Equality Act, as drafted. One question we did not get around to concerned another aspect of misrepresentation of law by activists. The question said that it had been claimed that For Women Scotland had essentially

The Conversion Practices bill could criminalise the parent who tries to convince their teenage daughter that it's okay to be a lesbian. If so many teens are moving from gay to trans we have to ask why. This bill prevents that discussion. Sign the @AllianceLGB letter here 👇
LGB people are not a prop for this Bill. Lesbians, gay men and bisexual people have signed our open letter because we believe it could harm children who may grow up LGB — and punish honest discussion rather than protect them. This Bill does not speak for us. Add your name: lgballiance.org.uk/conversio… #ItsOkayToBeGay

The BBC ECU have finally responded to complaints about the JVS Show that prevented @SexMattersOrg from speaking, in favour of three cross-dressing men. Quick 🧵 1/3
BBC Three Counties Radio covers the ban on men in women's toilets. The presenter interviews a cross-dressing man but he's only introduced as a "barrister", every question asked paints concerned women as "unkind" and he then suggests that cross-dressing men are actually women.

Sex Matters is heading to the High Court on 3rd and 4th November. We’re challenging the City of London Corporation’s decision to allow men who identify as women to use the Ladies’ Pond, including its changing rooms and showers. The City has a lawful option: keep the Ladies’ Pond for women, the Men’s Pond for men and the Mixed Pond for both sexes. We’re asking the court to hold it to the law. Support our cause: sex-matters.org/take-action/…

This ministerial letter fails to engage with any of the substantial criticisms of the draft Conversion Practices Bill. The bill isn’t compatible with rights to family life, to free expression and to live in a society governed by a predictable, comprehensible criminal code.

“It’s true, of course, that trans activism doesn’t impact all women negatively. In fact, the more privileged you are, the less it tends to affect you & the more it might benefit you. Aside from an avalanche of death, rape & torture threats, it hasn’t noticeably affected my life. Nor does it hurt wealthy women who repost the vogueish mantras while sitting in dressing rooms guarded by private security guards".. thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

📨 In response to the email received by UNISON members at @LeedsHospitals today we've written to the author, the LGBT+ Officer @UNISONLTHNHS ❓ Our question is simple: where is UNISON's advocacy for women? ⚖️ Where was the outrage when women faced investigations for defending single-sex spaces? 🚫 Where was the solidarity when women were labelled bigots for stating that sex matters? 👭 Where was the support for lesbians whose boundaries and same-sex attraction were routinely dismissed? Women deserve answers. We'll share any response we receive. #WomensRights #SexMatters #NHS

A male nurse has been nominated for a WOMEN'S healthcare award. Haven't we moved beyond this 'men make the best women' fawning garbage by now? How incredibly insulting. How appallingly unlawful. No Sir, you aren't being 'embraced as a woman'. Plus, where is the safeguarding scrutiny? How can women patients give informed consent to intimate care from a nurse if they are told he is female? How are women staff protected if they are lied to about a colleague's biological sex? These are fundamental questions of consent, dignity and safeguarding. @SEENinHealth report @ESNEFT unlawful single-sex policies remain in place. Why are women still being failed? Why is this STILL allowed to happen?
🚨 BREAKING: A male NHS nurse says he’s received four nominations for awards that celebrate women working in healthcare - including ‘Women’s Champion of the Year’. Jia Palis Amada said being “embraced as a woman” was already an award in itself. The awards are organised by emap - in association with Nursing Times. Helen Joyce of Sex Matters called the nominations “deeply insulting” to women. My latest for [Un]Captured. Link below 👇

"Ms Sturgeon cuts a rather pathetic figure these days. She knows the history books will record her as the First Minister who tried to destroy women's rights in law, but she's so desperate for attention that she has to resort to trying to rile the Scottish women she betrayed. This latest attempt to grab any publicity, however negative, is best met with a weary sigh and an eye-roll."

In 12 days, we shall know whether or not the campaign of those attempting to excommunicate me from the politics of my town, for standing on the very principles which I was elected to uphold, succeeds. I was elected, campaigning on a vision of a public government that works for its people. To protect equal rights under the law, and uphold the natural rights of humanity recognized in our constitution. I was elected to participate in the everlasting battle between the public and private sector, on behalf of the public. I was elected to assist in bringing about a legislative body which calmly, and carefully, enacts the legislation it advances in the process of becoming law. Allowing self-ID as a matter of law, or a medical community captured by its corporate boards to carry out the destruction of a child’s endocrine system by attempting to prevent puberty - putting them on a path to life altering ‘surgery’ which would make Mengele giddy in the grave; is not what I was elected to do. Circumventing the basic rights to due process, because some want to quickly satiate the entirely justified fear of gun violence in this country; is not what I was elected to do. Forcing medical intervention onto people, by allowing the unelected agencies of our state to ignore the citizens’ right to know their full rights. Including to informed consent, is not what I was elected to do. Attempting to paint me as an anti-vax, gun toting, bigoted, attention seeking show horse; is an effective election strategy. Though none of it is true. I may be cursed with the look of a Budweiser, but that doesn’t change the fact I’m work horse at heart. Pushing people who have asked the questions I have out of the party, will leave it wholly unsuccessful in the long term. In this election; I’ve watched people gang up on anyone who dares suggest support for me online. I’ve seen them told to leave the party, to shut up, and I am unbelievably tired of such childish behavior displayed by adults. Yes, that’s politics. I know. But I will continue to yearn for higher standards. Having many great elders, with unparalleled wisdom around me; I know that it was not always this bad. I choose to believe that it will not always be. Whatever happens on November 3rd, this election serves as but one of many examples as to why Democrats aren’t systematically crushing the Republican Party right now. Thanks for having me on to discuss some of this, Gracie. Be well.

This was a dramatic development. Last week, Adam Doyle denied having mentored Dr Sam Hall, the GP who was busily prescribing PBs and/or cross-sex hormones to hundreds (at least) of adolescents after referrals from the Tavistock for PBs had been stopped.
