Can’t say how thankful I am to @TorontoRockLax for this opportunity
Excited to work alongside Ashley and Brian, two of the absolute best in the league
Let’s Go #RockCity 🎸
I once convinced @czelkov to let me write about wrestling for a @CSportsMedia exercise, despite an uncontestable ZERO wrestling rule, when Sami fought Knoxville at WM38
Sami Zayn tells Roman Reigns people at least remember his match from WrestleMania 38
“You know who remembers your match at WrestleMania 38? Nobody. What was it? Roman vs. Brock Lesnar part 6 of 12?”

Me: “well that’s just silly”
Also me: “he’s Matt Vinc. Of course he did”
Sports photogs are next level
This World Series photo is one of the best sports photos I have ever seen, but the process behind how it was captured might be even more interesting.
No, it wasn't done with AI or a drone.
Here's what you need to know...
Mike Carlson and Carmen Mandato took this photo, and Carlson broke down the process on Instagram.
He says they go up on the catwalk before games to install a series of cameras mounted in different positions — looking at home plate, the mound, etc.
But since photographers can't sit on the catwalk during games (and also have to take other photos), Carlson and Mandato install a trigger to help take photos remotely.
The way it works is simple: When Carlson and Mandato take photos with their handheld camera in the outfield, the catwalk camera also takes a photo.
The catwalk camera is also connected to a network, so it automatically sends the photo to an editor.
This is similar to the process NBA photographers use to get those popular "spotlight effect" photos.
But instead of mounting their camera on a catwalk in the arena, NBA photographers use a trigger to activate the strobe lights most NBA arenas have installed in the rafters. Most people never notice the strobe light going off, but once you do, you'll notice it every time.
Super interesting.
“After midnight, baseball gets wacky” might be the greatest line I’ve ever heard #WorldSeries
This signing from two days ago appears to be just in time as CJ Kirst will miss the beginning of the season due to a lower-body injury suffered this summer
Ty is best as a transition player, but a chance (perhaps) to fill a leftie-offence spot out of camp
Rock City, get ready to welcome Ty English! He's ready to put the pedal to the metal 🏃♂️

Fun note about @PTI: Everyday, Tony Kornheiser preps for the show by taking written, long-hand notes in cursive on a yellow legal pad — one page for each A block story and 1/2 page for each B Block topic.
These should be on-display in the @smithsonian in DC. #PTI25

Closing Day tomorrow in Ajax
THE FUTURE STARS OF QUARTER HORSE RACING TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT AJAX DOWNS!
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21 – ALEX PICOV FUTURITY!
It's going to be an exciting showdown as 10 talented two-year-olds line up for the 400-yard Alex Picov Futurity on the final race day of the 2026 season!
And if the September 30th Trials were any indication, racing fans are in for a THRILLER!
A DEAD HEAT THAT SETS UP AN EPIC REMATCH!
Ontario-bred fillies IMPERIAL MIRACLE and BAREF HURRICANE RUSH couldn't be separated at the finish line in their Trial, hitting the wire together in a remarkable 20.633 seconds! Even more exciting, it was the FIRST career victory for both fillies!
IMPERIAL MIRACLE, bred and owned by James Bogar of Cameron, Ontario, came flying late under jockey Tony Phillips to catch the speedy BAREF HURRICANE RUSH, owned by Earl Foster and ridden by Corry Beland.
Bogar currently leads all Quarter Horse breeders at Ajax Downs with an impressive 16 wins from 69 starts!
BUT CAN ANYONE STOP THE UNDEFEATED HAD TO BE VALIANT?
The talented filly HAD TO BE VALIANT is a perfect 3 FOR 3 and looking to keep her winning streak alive!
Owned and bred by Carol and Jaime Robertson of Hillsburgh, Ontario, Had To Be Valiant captured the Ontario Bred Futurity in July and returned to win her September 30th Trial by a nose in 20.758 seconds, with jockey Ismael Mosqueira aboard.
Now the stage is set!
Will Imperial Miracle or Baref Hurricane Rush break their dead-heat rivalry and claim the big prize? Or will undefeated Had To Be Valiant make it FOUR STRAIGHT?
ONE RACE. TEN YOUNG STARS. ONE FUTURITY CHAMPION!
ALEX PICOV FUTURITY – RACE #8
I quickly discovered the “alternate exit”
And didn’t have to take this route at all last season
If @sbdshanny ever makes his pxp debut, you’ll know what happened
Gamers should’ve won last year
“They may have a bunch of Hall of Famers, but we have a bunch of gamers. And the gamers won this week.”
