The @alzassociation will always stand up for people and science. See below to find out how we’re speaking up to support the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.
Alongside @American_Heart, we have filed an amicus brief supporting the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT), an initiative approved by nearly 70% of voters to advance research on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Despite the clear message sent by the people of Texas, litigation has delayed DPRIT's implementation, but we will continue fighting to see it succeed. Learn more: bit.ly/4gXq6S7.

Today, the FDA approved a subcutaneous starter dose of Leqembi, marking the first anti-amyloid treatment that can be given by injection (at a doctor’s office or at home) throughout the full course of treatment. Until now, Leqembi could only be administered through IV infusions every two weeks at a hospital or infusion center. Today’s FDA action gives people and families more options.
