Nigeria’s 2023 budget is its largest on record at 21.8 trillion Naira. It can’t pay for it. It is worrisome that Nigeria is wildly spending money it doesn’t have on things that won’t bring her the most gain. A 🧵 on why you should be concerned, and what you can do about it👇

9 - Florian Wirtz's nine chances created from open play against Brentford is the most by a player in a Premier League game since Sadio Mané v Burnley in January 2021 (9) and the most by a player in an away game since Samir Nasri v Spurs in August 2011 (10). Progress.

We are grateful to God for the provision of these electric buses, made available to make the journey to and from church more convenient for our members. More than vehicles, they are another way to preserve the harvest of souls for the kingdom, serve God's people.

NIGERIA, It is no coincidence that one of the fiercest battles over this nation is the battle to make her people lose faith in what she can become. After years of disappointment, corruption and broken promises, hope itself begins to look like foolishness. A man speaks about the future of Nigeria, and people laugh because they have heard too much and suffered too long. Recently, there was a backlash against a prophetic word concerning our nation, and it was painful to watch. Beyond the disagreement with that particular utterance, some of the responses revealed how many Christians have lost confidence in the prophetic destiny of Nigeria. The very suggestion that GOD still has an intention for this land was treated as something worthy of ridicule. This is why the Church must be careful of what prolonged disappointment is doing to her heart concerning Nigeria. We have seen corruption, suffered injustice and watched hope betrayed repeatedly. But we must not allow these experiences to become the lens by which we interpret the future of our land. We Must refuse to accept corruption as the definition of our nation. We acknowledge its presence. We have suffered its consequences. We have watched it steal opportunities, impoverish families and reward wickedness. Yet we will not surrender our children to the belief that dishonesty is the only way to survive here. A generation must arise that can confront what Nigeria has become without losing sight of what she ought to become. As we celebrate Independence Day, the Church must recover her sense of responsibility before GOD concerning this land. If we believe that GOD has purposes to accomplish through Nigeria, that conviction must be seen in our prayers, our conduct and our service to the nation. Prophetic expectation places a demand upon the people who Believe it. We cannot keep announcing a glorious future while participating in the practices that resist it. The man who prays for a righteous nation and demands a bribe at work is contradicting his own intercession. The businessman who declares that Nigeria will rise but cheats everyone who trusts him is working against the future he prophesies. The minister who speaks of national transformation while using his spiritual authority to exploit people has brought the same corruption we condemn in government into the sanctuary. Our partnership with GOD must reach the places where our obedience becomes costly. Jeremiah instructed the exiles to seek the peace of the city where they had been carried away and to pray unto the LORD for it. They were living in a land that was not their home, yet GOD required them to take responsibility for its welfare. How much more should we labour for the land in which our children will grow, our families will live and our ministries will serve? Prayer must continue upon our altars, but righteousness must also be visible in our offices, businesses, schools and public institutions. We must raise people whose consciences cannot be purchased; people who can handle public resources without converting them into private possessions; people who will speak the truth even when the offender belongs to their tribe, their party or their church. This is part of the Church’s work in a nation. We preach CHRIST, make disciples and form men whose allegiance to HIM governs how they live among their neighbours. The gospel must produce a people who will refuse dishonest gain, protect the vulnerable and remain faithful when nobody is watching. We must also be careful that our language of prophetic destiny does not become an excuse for presumption. GOD’S purposes are never permission for a people to continue in wickedness. The prophets who announced HIS promises also confronted the sins of the people. They called for repentance, justice and obedience because a nation cannot despise righteousness and expect prophecy to make rebellion harmless.

What does being the BELOVED OF GOD look like in everyday life? There is a difference between knowing that God loves you and having your life transformed by that knowledge. The testimony of Scripture is clear: We are loved because He first loved us.

I received up to 5 calls from different people yesterday telling me about how Atiku’s subsidy narrative is working and how it has brought him back into the game. Time will tell whether they are right but those who will win the narrative will come out at the right time; - Working state governors who are now able to do more for their people. - Civil servants who now get their salaries and emoluments at the right time. - Business community who now has a stable environment. - Students who now get their school fees paid alongside monthly stipends. - Professionals who know the consequences of any reversal at this point in time. It is a debate that will be lost naturally during the course of the campaign and it is only a matter of time. We will be there!!! Great analysis by these two guests who are obviously angry with the idea from the get go.

"The Governors have never had it better since 1999 to date under any Presidency... During former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, 15 states were unable to pay salaries, when Goodluck Ebele Jonathan took over as the president, we have 22 states that were unable to pay salary... During this Tinubu Administration, zero state is unable to pay salaries." — Dr. Taofiq Raimi, Development Expert

Wait till you see what we found. • ₦3.5bn for a Technical & Vocational Training College in Kaduna. • ₦1.4bn for road construction in Ogun. • ₦700m for dental X-ray machines and dental chairs in Ekiti. All under the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education. And this wasn't a one-off. While analysing the 2026 budget, we found 11,122 constituency projects worth ₦6.93 trillion that blur agency mandates, making it harder for Nigerians to follow the money and hold the right institutions accountable. We unpacked what this means for the credibility of the 2026 budget in our Federal Government Approved Budget Analysis. Every Nigerian needs to know what the government is doing. Two things are true: We seem to start losing concentration from the 75th minute. African teams have been treated unfairly this whole World Cup. So many calls not going our way but you can see those examples given to other teams

CAF needs to issue a statement about how poorly African teams have been treated in this particular World Cup. I’ve watched the World Cup since Italia 90…I don’t remember so many unfair treatment. The foul on Salah was the same as the canceled goal. Ref didn’t even check VAR
