Indian EVMs are standalone with no internet, WiFi or Bluetooth, so remote hacking is impossible. Software is burnt into one-time programmable chips that cannot be altered. Newer models disable themselves on any tamper attempt. They register votes only every 12-15 seconds (max ~4 per minute). Booth capture that took minutes with paper ballots now needs hours, giving security time to respond. The officer can instantly close polling. Randomisation of machines and candidate order, plus VVPAT slips and multi-party seals, further block rigging. Paper systems allowed quick stuffing, theft and invalid votes.
