BUT! If you’re interested in helping out a 2nd grade teacher in GA who is enjoying the classroom trailer life, here’s my list!!

I had a very light case of chicken pox, so I’m at a higher risk for shingles. Got the vax as soon as I was eligible, and haven’t had an attack yet. 🤞
Rigorous cultural education happening in my classroom this afternoon. It was the quietest they had been. 😀#GreatPumpkin🎃

And all I’m getting mine to do is write a paragraph.

That “cushy” pension? We pay for it every month.
That pension? I paid for it. It’s about $500 a month that comes out of my check.
Also, there are very few teachers that travel the entire summer. Certainly not if they have kids.
But, if it’s that cushy, people are welcome to apply!
It’s conference week so PTA provided lunch for us. I got one slice of pizza (cold), a spoonful of blueberries, and a cookie.
Good thing I packed some snacks since my conferences went until 5 pm.

Weird. My kid didn’t do any of that today at her high school. None of that happened at my school today either. Hmmm. 🤔

How’s he going to improve the foster system??? Case workers are overloaded, there’s a shortage of trained foster parents, and kids linger in the system forever. If he wants to lean into the former foster kid, what’s his plan for improving the system?

Hard to do that when they’re sent away on a plane to a third country even AFTER a judge says ICE can’t.

I’m assuming that if someone is close enough to you to invite you to share an AirBnB for a weekend, then they also know your family situation. But, also, you don’t need to get on Twitter and act like it’s SO WEIRD that friends want to spend a weekend with you.

Does this include people living outside of Indiana? (Asking for a friend - me, I’m the friend 😀)

We have that, but the hoops teachers have to jump through to get to the evaluation point is ridiculous. If the student didn’t come to school with an IEP already in place, it can take up to four or five months to collect all the data and evaluate. Especially for behavior.
I know it’s probably AI bait, but this is how too many parents think. My kid, who can’t follow the rules, shouldn’t receive a consequence that makes him feel bad. 🙄

I started kindergarten in 1979, and not a single person I knew got the measles. I was vaccinated at 12 months old. Chicken pox? Yes. Measles and mumps? Definitely not.

It’s not as bad now, but a few years ago, every week I had to think about how to plan meals around evening activities and ensuring there was enough time to prepare the meal. And that meals were easy enough to eat in the car without a huge mess.
