Part of the Western Cape tourist experience is the warmth and professionalism of our tourism and hospitality industries. From the bar staff and waitrons to the chefs and cleaners, all our tourism role players worked incredibly hard to ensure our tourism industry remains world-class. This sector is vital for job creation and economic growth. THANK YOU! 👏🙏🎉

Hey @FlySafair I’ve just had the best service from Patricia at the @ortambo_int check-in. Her service was intuitive; an empathic approach to problem-solving & her smile…well it made my day. I work in tourism, I know what it takes to tick all these boxes. And boy did she! Bravo!

Regrettably, a wrong picture has been used to advance a narrative of Cyril Ramaphosa's capture by white interests. I thought the learned friends would look at the names in the picture! At the time Cheadle, Thompson and Haysom were the go-to guys in the legal fraternity. Yes, it was largely white dominated but these were heroes, not traitors! These lawyers together with experts from the UK and USA were assembled to defend the interests of 68 mainly black mine workers who were the victims of the Hlobane mine disaster in 1983. Know your history!

1/ Earlier today (Wednesday, 23 August), Daily Maverick published a story about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's refusal to leave his aircraft at Waterkloof Air Force Base because the South African government had only sent a Cabinet minister to officially welcome him.
