The LA Times wrote about the police union (Bass’s biggest donor) honoring Daryl Gates two weeks ago. Shouldn’t Karen Bass disavow the police union’s endorsement?

Karen Bass’s police Chief sent an honor guard (on duty cops) and a helicopter to honor Daryl Gates. You paid for it. The police union held the Daryl Gates event. Bass needs to reject the union’s endorsement & demand the $5.6M the union is spending to reelect Bass be returned.
Councilmember Nithya Raman's comment at a debate on ex-LAPD Chief Daryl Gates being the "gold standard" in terms of not working with ICE is "beyond offensive" to Black and Latino residents, Mayor Karen Bass told Spectrum News. Raman has accused Bass of twisting her words.

We’re back with our second story about how Trump’s purge of the FBI killed a sweeping bribery probe in D.C. This time, we take you to South Carolina, where two powerful politicians escaped scrutiny: Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. James Clyburn. THREAD 👇

RIP to Richard Riehle, who had more than FOUR HUNDRED credits, including the stressed out liaison in “Office Space” and the prison guard who spun a “bullshit story” in “The Fugitive.” 🙏🏻

In the last few months: The Orioles owner said he bought the team because all of his friends who had sports teams made more than he ever could in private equity The Padres sold for $3.9B, 63% more than the previous record The Angels then sold for $4.0B, beating the Padres record So why then are billionaires lighting money on fire by bailing out other billionaires from the apparent financial ruin of owning a baseball team? It's because they're all making billions in appreciation and teams like the Yankees can sell just 16% for $2.6 BILLION (MLB of course waived the 15% cap lol) with an additional $1B in tax-exempt revenue bonds to refinance debt in their other business ventures Seriously, who would pass up on an infinite money glitch like that? I'm begging you all to realize owners just want a cap to make accounting easier. They're lying about competitive balance to create a narrative that is only in place to win them cost certainty

The LAPD labor contract expires in eight months. The next mayor will begin negotiations w/the police union in the next few months. The police union is spending a ton of money to support Bass, and will expect big raises in return. Her last police contract broke our city:

We no longer have ANY Blue Collar artists in R&B. We have Jazz sophisticates, Kingpin wannabes, Queen Beys, Talented Nepos, Those Ready To Rule their imaginary fiefdoms . We don’t have bus/drivers who can REALLY sing. Nobody’s looking either.
Bill lives in all us whose grandaddies worked coal mines, steel plants, railroad yards, roadways, fields, meat packing, greasy assembly lines and clocked out to the mundanities of life: love, loss, hard drink, cracks in the family circle, the good reverend’s ineffectual petitions

You guys are stupid for thinking electoralism doesn't work. Anyways here's why an elected official can't challenge the existing power structure or implement the policies socialists want.

I need you to understand how bizarre all of this has been. Newly elected New York City mayors of the past have universally ALWAYS replaced the top police leadership to install their own handpicked choice to better assert their vision. It's usually one of their first moves. Yet Zohran; this anti-establishment poster boy ushering in a wave of socialist, radical notions and revolutionary politics, is the notable exception to this trend when he retained Jessica Tisch as NYPD Commissioner. This was the fundamental litmus test to whether he would be successful in truly fending off zionist and establishment co-option efforts/ pressure to assert their status quo in this regard. And for all the good he is doing on empowering New Yorkers economically, he failed in this specific aspect, in a way no one before him has. Jessica Tisch is a vocal, ardent and uncompromising zionist (see her past speech at the ADL), her continuation into Zohran's administration is genuinely as remarkable as it is unfathomable. For all the corrupt, crooked politics Eric Adams and his office endorsed; for all the abuses of his authority and wheeling and dealing he did particularly to cater to the mega-rich and powerful zionist class of the city; for all their vitriol and animated hostility towards Zohran and his ideological vision/ base— that he kept on such a fundamental component piece of that interest group in one of the most prominent positions within the city's political architecture— is truly astounding. Particularly given the authority she wields; the very literal monopoly on violence which has historically been used to assert not just the interests of the corporate elites Zohran claims to be confronting, but especially against agitators and aggressors attempting to break the influence of zionist power over the city and country. When he knows of her family's vast influence and ties to Israel; her father, James Tisch (chairman of Loews Corporation), previously served on the executive committee of AIPAC. Her prominent billionaire family has a overwhelming track record of funding all forms of zionist lobbying, propaganda and influence in the United States. Zohran knew there was a disproportionate bias she explicitly holds towards the zionist entity— a favorability she would invariably execute through force. And has been permitted to do so now; as recently seen with the clampdown on hundreds of protestors demonstrating against Netanyahu's presence in the city a few weeks ago. His decision to keep Tisch is eerily similar to how Obama, who came into office riding a wave of popularity stoked up by his opposition to the (Republican) Bush administration's wars overseas, retained Bush's Defense Secretary Robert Gates when he came into office. For all his campaigning on *change* and promises to end the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan, he persisted with keeping intact one of the most integral parts of that mandate— those wars never ended as a result. Inheriting a key figure from your fierce political rival? Choosing not to replace them is not customary— to keep any cabinet member from the previous administration. Ever. Which made it so strange at the time. That you claim to be opposed in every metric to that past administration in practice and ideals, yet carry forward with a critical member from it? It seems to be the exact same phenomenon as Obama here. For all his rousing rhetoric denouncing the zionist lobby and its stranglehold; for all his promises of a cultural change to the contemporary political infrastructure— he has submitted to their demands rather than resisting them. He has seemingly taken the revolutionary fervor that existed in the city to get him into office and now it's the same old lines.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's office rejected calls from congressional nominee Darializa Avila Chevalier for NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch to step down. "Jessica Tisch is the Police Commissioner and there are no plans to change that," a City Hall spokesperson told Politico.

Underrated Boeing 777 feature: the beige cockpit. That warm brown/beige interior wasn’t just an aesthetic choice. It was designed with pilot feedback in mind, aiming to create a comfortable working environment and reduce visual fatigue. The really impressive part: the 777 entered service in 1995 with an advanced glass cockpit built around LCD displays, at a time when CRT screens were still common in airliner cockpits. Boeing was seriously ahead of its time with the 777.

NYC-DSA calls for Zohran Mamdani to fire Jessica Tisch "Jessica Tisch must get ICE out of New York and end NYPD complicity with these terrorists. If the Commissioner can't put a stop to these injustices, she must be fired."

The contractor Karen Bass and them are using to do the multibillion dollar work on the convention center (PCL) is the SAME contractor the city used for the “Destination Crenshaw” disaster? What a fucking joke.
