I remember when the media and record labels pushed the east coast/west coast beef, people in LA listened to east coast rap non stop like they always had.

I'm very very sad tonight. I just learned that Stephen Biesty passed away in 2024 at 63... He is one of my favorite artist. Rest in peace.

LA is not biased really at all. The bay is very biased but has good reasons to feel how they feel. A lot of this is changing w the new generations though. They don’t have the same regional experience as older folks.
Sometimes I remember that the Democratic Party coup’d Henry Wallace in 1944 and you still delude yourselves into thinking we’re a few liberal elections away from what we deserve. Things are not bad cause we want it that way, it’s cause too many keep opting for the same okie doke.

If their ICE coverage softens (and it will) we will know this is yet another example of smears on a person’s character to cover and deflect from the sellout shit

The LA Times wrote about the police union (Bass’s biggest donor) honoring Daryl Gates two weeks ago.
Shouldn’t Karen Bass disavow the police union’s endorsement?

People do google searches and say George Jackson was from Chicago. He was born there but then grew up in LA (Pasadena to be precise) and they don’t know about the history of folks like Ray Ray Browning etc and it’s all very complex and power moves in lots of different ways

There’s never been a good police chief but there is a very specific history as to why LAPD has been so uniquely awful (which is saying a lot) and she should know it, and it involves Daryl Gates’ mentor.

She always shows that she has no real roots in L.A, and clearly doesn’t talk to folks who do.

Karen Bass’s police Chief sent an honor guard (on duty cops) and a helicopter to honor Daryl Gates. You paid for it.
The police union held the Daryl Gates event. Bass needs to reject the union’s endorsement & demand the $5.6M the union is spending to reelect Bass be returned.

We’re back with our second story about how Trump’s purge of the FBI killed a sweeping bribery probe in D.C.
This time, we take you to South Carolina, where two powerful politicians escaped scrutiny:
Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. James Clyburn.

RIP to Richard Riehle, who had more than FOUR HUNDRED credits, including the stressed out liaison in “Office Space” and the prison guard who spun a “bullshit story” in “The Fugitive.” 🙏🏻

Kevin Brown has longevity, too, but he had a run from ‘96-2001 where he was untouchable.

In the last few months:
The Orioles owner said he bought the team because all of his friends who had sports teams made more than he ever could in private equity
The Padres sold for $3.9B, 63% more than the previous record
The Angels then sold for $4.0B, beating the Padres record
So why then are billionaires lighting money on fire by bailing out other billionaires from the apparent financial ruin of owning a baseball team?
It's because they're all making billions in appreciation and teams like the Yankees can sell just 16% for $2.6 BILLION (MLB of course waived the 15% cap lol) with an additional $1B in tax-exempt revenue bonds to refinance debt in their other business ventures
Seriously, who would pass up on an infinite money glitch like that?
I'm begging you all to realize owners just want a cap to make accounting easier. They're lying about competitive balance to create a narrative that is only in place to win them cost certainty
