It might take a little effort... But if you can learn that in Spanish “ll” (often) sounds like English “y”, “j” sounds like “h”, and “ñ” sounds like “ny”, then you can also learn that in Chinese “zh” is like “j”, “x” is like “sh”, and “q” is like “ch”. (2/8)

Confused by the political rhetoric you've heard about the Blueprint for Maryland's future? This is the clearest explanation I've seen anywhere. One quote sums it up: "To not invest more in better educational outcomes is to allow our future to slip away." baltimoresun.com/opinion/edi…

Believing that the Paris Agreement is about Paris residents should be embarrassing for a lawmaker but is likely quite effective at making this issue even more polarizing — which stands to benefit the most conservative lawmakers.

It’s pretty simple. When the questions you’re “just asking” are based on lies, the questions aren’t just questions. They’re lies. In service of other lies.

I hope the congress members that have PTSD now or had PTSD triggered that they already had are able to get good threapy. The only reason I was able to continue doing this work and going to school because I got a good therapist. It’s 100,000 times harder without therapy.

But the crucial message remains that this is a respiratory virus with ways to control it. There are countries that *have* controlled it. If yours has not, ask why not. Those who cannot work from home deserve protection too, and that starts with keeping transmission low 15/end

We received confirmation today that the new COVID UK variant was detected in two positive cases from a single household in #AnneArundel County. The UK variant is more easily transmitted between individuals which is why there is greater surveillance for this variant.

To Republican elected leaders: There’s lots of talk today about moving forward and “healing.” Here are some ideas for how you can help. 1. Say out loud that America had a free and fair election in November. If you had a winning election, point that out.
