Here's a piece of literature by me, suitable for seventeen-year-olds in Alberta schools, unlike -- we are told -- The Handmaid's Tale. (Sorry, kids; your Minister of Education thinks you are stupid babies.) John and Mary were both very, very good children. They never picked their noses or had bowel movements or zits. They grew up and married each other, and produced five perfect children without ever having sex. Although they claimed to be Christian, they paid no attention to what Jesus actually said about the poor and the Good Samaritan and forgiving your enemies and such; instead, they practised selfish rapacious capitalism, because they worshipped Ayn Rand. (Though they ignored the scene in The Fountainhead where “welcomed rape” is advocated, because who wants to dwell, and also that would have involved sex and would de facto be pornographic. Well, it kind of is, eh?) Oh, and they never died, because who wants to dwell on, you know, death and corpses and yuk? So they lived happily ever after. But while they were doing that The Handmaid’s Tale came true and Danielle Smith found herself with a nice new blue dress but no job. The end.

I'm still waiting for evidence that the Premier is not a separatist.

This was Trudeau in Europe today. I know many of my fellow Albertans have been persuaded to hate him, but listen to this speech. It’s is shameful that he is being driven off the political stage at this moment of crisis. He’s not perfect, but he continues to do our country proud.
**WATCH THIS 🎞️** TRUDEAU’S GREATEST EVER SPEECH TO THE EU. 🤌🏼🇪🇺 🟥 PM, JUSTIN TRUDEAU 🇨🇦: “It's not just about Ukraine. It's about the rules and the VALUES and the principles of sovereignty, of independence, of territorial integrity that protects EVERY country in the world.” #LeadershipMatters ✅

Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine is not over yet.   But Canada will be there, standing with Ukraine, until it is.

On this day in 1967, Pierre Elliott Trudeau declared “There’s no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation,” and since then, we’ve legalized same-sex marriage, banned conversion therapy, and fought to protect trans rights.

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States. Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner.

The federal Chief Actuary has released their analysis of what Alberta would receive should it exit the CPP. It's clear and accessible; give it a read: osfi-bsif.gc.ca/en/oca/oca-f… TL;DR: The Government of Alberta's 53% share is rejected. I'll explain. #cdnecon #cdnpoli

Yet again, political identity driving bunk.👇 Why older adults are drawn to dubious news psypost.org/its-not-digital-… Older adults > "to engage with unreliable new sources." Why? Because of "heightened partisan bias & entrenched political identities..." From study: "Calcified partisanship in particular makes older Americans vulnerable to hyperpartisan news—which is highly slanted but not verified as explicitly false" (by @JasonReifler @Jacob_Montg et al.) via @psypost cc @Sander_vdLinden @srmarcon @VoiceOfFranky @doritmi @MediaSmarts

Dr. Kroner is right to dispute @NateHornerAB's agenda. It just isn't true. AIMCO costs are largely in line with other large pension investment orgs. Fired AIMCo chair disputes Alberta’s narrative on costs in letter to Horner financialpost.com/fp-finance…
