😂😂 This is insane. Nadine has never won anything in her life. Neither would win the leadership, let alone a general election. You just lost with hardly getting 25% of the vote. You don’t have the numbers to take over the UCP, let alone to oust the Premier, and win a general election. Did you not just see what happened in BC yesterday? You’re completely out of touch with Albertans and Canadians.
Nine Thoughts on Alberta First’s Future 1. We are told to remain inside the @Alberta_UCP, keep our heads down, build quietly, and wait until after 2027 for @ABDanielleSmith to stumble. That isn’t strategy. It’s surrender disguised as patience. The campaign energy will fade, organizations will atrophy, and sovereigntists will crawl back to the federalist reservation for scraps. The can has been kicked far enough. 2. Smith did not give us a binding referendum on Independence. She gave us a non-binding referendum on whether to begin the process of holding one. A referendum on a referendum. Then, after the result, she declared there would be no more Independence referendums while she is Premier. Our movement spent its energy on a dead end. Now she cites the result to close the discussion. Alberta’s future is not hers alone to settle. 3. Smith declares the UCP a federalist party and invites sovereigntists who insist on organizing to leave. Leave? Wildrose grassroots helped build her premiership. Alberta First supporters aren’t tenants in their own political home. The UCP belongs to its membership, not its leader. She cannot simply tell a substantial part of her political coalition to disappear. 4. Look at the direction of her government: accommodation with Ottawa, retreat on Independence, and increasingly metropolitan political priorities. The old Progressive Conservatives are being resurrected. Rural Alberta supplies the seats. Alberta First supplies the volunteers, the enthusiasm and the money. Afterward, leadership lectures us about which convictions must be sacrificed for “electability.” We have seen this before. 5. Janet Brown found 53% of prospective UCP voters backed Option 2, against 40% for remaining in Canada. A reminder that membership itself is a sovereigntist supermajority. We are not outsiders. We are the party’s foundation. If the leadership disagrees with the membership, let the membership decide. 6. The immediate question is political power. Constituency boards. Nominations. Policy conventions. Leadership. Not another year awaiting permission, but action in the institutions that determine the UCP’s future. NOW. Smith should face a serious leadership challenge. @echipiuk and @NadineWellwood are articulate Alberta First voices worth considering that are immediately electable in 2027. If the UCP wants to win in 2027, it must replace Danielle Smith. The members must govern the party, not be managed by it. 7. If the UCP rejects its sovereigntist constituency, Wildrose 2.0 must be considered. Look at the polling maps. From the Peace Country to southern Alberta, Independence has rural strongholds. A rural and rural-suburban party could reshape elections, though vote-splitting carries risks. The UCP cannot presume perpetual ownership of voters whose defining aspiration it rejects. Loyalty is earned, not inherited. 8. Québec offers an instructive example. The PQ won roughly 28% of the vote and about 60 seats, emerging as the largest party. Geography and a divided electoral field matter. But institutions matter more. The PQ survived referendum defeats because it built leaders, policy, and a durable political identity. Alberta First cannot wake up for a referendum, fight furiously, lose, and go back to sleep after willingly giving power to federalists. It must become a permanent political force. 9. Another referendum tomorrow is not the objective. Governing is. For twenty years we have debated the Alberta Firewall: pensions, tax collection, policing, and more provincial authority over immigration and EI. These demand legal work, fiscal plans, legislation, and institutions. Whether through a UCP accountable to its members or a new political vehicle, the question is how Alberta First converts conviction into government. We have waited. We have compromised. We have kicked the can until there is scarcely any road left. Political power, not another promise. Alberta First.

Norway ranks well above the US in just about every metric imaginable, you’d thank your lucky stars if you went to bed in Birmingham and woke up in Bergen (except in January without a coat) and millions of Norwegian immigrants have been model Americans over two centuries.

Maher kissed his ass and lobbed softball questions — nay, tee ball league stuff — to Karoline Leavitt just to have Trump post this. Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving dude.
President Trump posted a more than 1300-word rant against Bill Maher, in which he tucks in that he is “not building a swimming pool in the White House briefing room,” but is still considering moving the press out.

One way or another, he flat out lied
Elon has a problem here. He now claims Ukraine violated Starlink’s terms of service, and, implicitly, Elon throttled their Starlink connection. But several days ago, I thought Elon said he didn’t throttle Ukraine’s Starlink. He said only the president has the ability to do that. So this clearly wasn’t the reason that Ukraine was throttled 10 days ago, or Elon would have said so then. In fact, Elon appeared to deny all responsibility. So what was Elon’s reason? I guess my point is, he appeared to not be telling the full story then, so why should we believe him now?

It’s amazing that the US is refusing major Ukrainian concessions (and these are) while asking nothing at all of Russia. The US seems fine with Putin attacking anything he wants in Ukraine.
🇺🇸🇺🇦 Zelensky offered the US three options to stop strikes on Russian refineries! "I said: if you want us not to hit diesel, refineries, then let them (the Russians, - ed.) not hit our electricity. This is fair. An energy truce. The second option is you open Starlink over Russia, we show you the places where there are ballistic missile launchers. We want to destroy them. The third option is if you don't open Starlink to us, and it depends only on you, and you said that Musk doesn't want it, then give us something that doesn't depend on Musk and Putin - missiles for Patriot."

This crazy bitch should be behind bars not on 60 Minutes. This isn’t journalism. It’s Bari Weiss both-sidesing election denialism. There is no reason to put her on television.
“Show me the evidence that the paper ballot results differed from the computerized results,” 60 Minutes’ Bill Whitaker asks Tina Peters, the former Colorado election official who served time for her role in a voting machine breach. “My place is not to show, you know, pick out different things and what-- what could have happened,” Peters says. “I was authorized to protect the election records according to 52USC.70201.” cbsn.ws/3W6ZKFb

Never even imagined a US President openly willing to hurt half the country. Heartbreaking for America
Trump: "The president has a lot of power. It's a big difference when he likes the people representing a state. Collins could call me anytime he wants. 'You gotta help the farmers!' ... there's a big difference between that and Pee Wee Herman calling. 'Tell him I'm not in!' 'But he needs money for Georgia.' 'I don't give a damn what he wants!' Probably I shouldn't say that."

Closing message in Michigan is just full send racism. It is so sad that we have, as a society, allowed ourselves to grow numb to this stuff coming from the people who rule us.
Beamer on El-Sayed: He has a birth certificate but he's not an American. He had the choice to be an American or not. He has chosen otherwise. He has blood that's red. However, he has chosen to remove any strain of the white and blue part in his blood. We cannot allow this man to invade and, occupy our country. (He is an American)

It’s often a good thing for Canadians that the Americans are so stupid they don’t know anything about us. Like, for example, they have no idea what kind of unique coalition the BC Liberals were and wouldn’t know a SoCred from an old shoe.

Smith said she did not win the UCP leadership in 2022 because of support from separatists. The separatists disagree.
You can tell when Danielle Smith is having a crash out, because she just starts saying ludicrous things. The only reason she won the leadership was because of the Independence movement.

Sure Donald. That’s why we in Canada have a significantly higher life expectancy than USians and better overall outcomes by almost every metric. But yeah, keep em poor, ignorant and compliant while the insurance executives and politicians laugh all the way to the bank.
