Stand up for those who need it. Challenge power. Expose wrongdoing. Hold the powerful to account. Give a voice to the unheard - whatever their background or beliefs. Change is coming. Let’s do this.

I love us as a people.
We stand together for peace, determined not to return to our painful past.
We want to build and pass on a better future for our children and grandchildren.
This is the best of us! 💚

If somebody genuinely went on Nolan threatening to “mobilise thousands”, then condemn it. I certainly do. This situation needs less inflammatory rhetoric, not more.
But spare me the selective outrage.
For days Bryson and others have helped turn a dispute over 35 Orangemen into a huge communal confrontation, with increasingly inflammatory language about “mobs”, “Republicans”, surrender and who controls the streets.
Then you’re shocked when people from outside Portadown decide to travel to Garvaghy Road in solidarity with the residents?
That doesn’t justify unlawful behaviour by anybody. But words have consequences. You cannot continually wind up one community, portray the other as the enemy and raise the political temperature, then wash your hands of the reaction and declare everyone else the aggressors.
Perhaps everyone with a microphone should start lowering the temperature rather than competing to see who can inflame it further.

The bigger picture is discomfort with the changing political landscape in this part of the world whether people care to admit it or not. Couple that with malign influences who think they are smarter than they are and that’s quite a rotten combo.

We stand with the people of the Garvahy Road.
After 28 years of peace this change isn't about rights, but pushing conflict and supremacy.
¡No pasarán!

I’ve never known so many to be invested in law & order, who stay silent around theft &destruction of public property, who didn’t demand resignations when families were being burnt out of their homes, mosques on bonfires & more
Self righteousness rings slightly hollow today.

I reported on all the Garvaghy Road disputes through the Nineties and the associated deaths and destruction. Also reported on the first banned parade in Portadown in 1985. Terrible times. It’s incomprehensible that we could be heading back there
