It's a classic. #MCFC
Max and I sat down with @LifeGoalsTD Theo Delaney some time ago and recorded his podcast on the golden moments @ManCity gave us as I bought him up - City was the glue in our lives after his mum died - none of the madness we currently see will take away one moment of joy from those and future years. 🩵 podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

The engaging Ollie Holt has all the authority you’d expect of an elite football writer but remains the same besotted fan he was as a boy on the terraces of Old Trafford, Maine Road and Edgeley Park. Pretty perfect for Life Goals! #mcfc #mufc #stockportcounty #footballpodcast

When I wrote about this image rights sham for The Independent in 2018, Manchester City threatened to sue us and demanded I tweet out a personal apology on here. We fought them. They did not sue us. City's sham is confirmed by the Premier League today independent.co.uk/sport/foot…

The stupidest thing is how transparent the cheating was. Man City were averaging £600m more in commercial income than Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in the decade to 2020. It was stark raving obvious that those numbers could not be real for City’s global scale at that time.

It took Pep Guardiola eight years to clear his name the first time his legacy came under threat from allegations of cheating. This current storm will take far longer to pass. The least he should do now is call out those responsible. Column ⬇️ dailymail.com/sport/football…

When the scale of deception is this great, the concept of stripping City of at least some of the titles they won nefariously becomes harder and harder to deny
So, in the 2017-18 season Manchester City scored 100 points they received just £11m of genuine sponsorship. Did the commercial team get bonuses?

Ricky wrote to me 15 years ago after hearing a radio show I hosted, we eventually met up, had a drink, and ended up working together on his book. He was a brilliant footballer, very successful coach (tho under-appreciated in England) and is a wonderful human being.
✍️ Written with @TheAdrianDurham the brilliant Love of the Game is Ricky Hill’s life story and is OUT NOW in paperback. 🔗 amazon.co.uk/dp/1836804865/?… 🏟️ From Wembley’s shadow to England honours and a crusade for fairness – the inspiring story of Ricky Hill. 🦁 From a Luton Town legend who became only the fourth black player to represent England, and a coach determined to open doors for others. ⚽️ Rising from boyhood dreams to 508 appearances for Luton, Ricky Hill faced racism at home and success abroad, then fought to dismantle barriers for black managers – devising a UK equivalent of the Rooney Rule for BAME coaches. Inside you will discover: ✅ The journey from selling programmes at Wembley to scoring on debut for Luton ✅ Fourteen seasons, 508 games and the making of a club icon ✅ The realities of being an early black England international ✅ The trailblazing campaign to give BAME coaches fair access to senior roles – and the stories behind being overlooked 📚 Ricky’s lived a courageous, necessary and uplifting football life – Love of the Game is for anyone who believes in talent, opportunity and change.
