A major issue with Discord is that it's always been unindexable, unlike forums and Reddit
There is a TON of knowledge locked in public Discords that would've been in forums back in the day that people cannot see unless you get lucky
Discord will soon make public server messages searchable on Google
The feature will be enabled by default for US adults, but users can opt out in their privacy settings

Missing context: only applies to messages posted after the update, in public channels of discoverable servers.
No private servers or DMs.
Indexed messages won’t show usernames or avatars.
Admins can opt out entire servers; users can opt out their own messages.

This is one of my absolute biggest pet peeves with @YouTube. These stupid fucks have not figured out that you should only ever move the child designation to the offsetting, never force it on. Because if you mess up, you expose kids to things they shouldn’t be exposed to.

Those were bought at their worst times. EA was making bank before going private. You people really don’t know the difference do you.
People love to harp about how “EA was doing bad” or something but EA was growing at an insane pace since 2013. Closing down shitty studios that don’t make you money isn’t a private equity thing. Microsoft and Sony has closed a lot of studios as well. Lol.
The reason these companies do not survive and the PE purchasers do not care? They’ve already made their money. They’re not purchasing these companies to maximize ongoing profit. They make a ton upfront, anything else is gravy.
