Everyone hopes these trucks have a boring day 😴 But if they are needed, @keeneland’s unique proximity to multiple state-of-the-art vet clinics means a horse can be at one of them within 20 minutes of an incident.

Someone that truly loves horse racing will be vocal about the failings of the industry. Someone that loves thoroughbreds will engage in the uncomfortable conversations, there is no love like improvement and wanting to do better.

We’d never send a horse out to race dehydrated and unfed. Somehow we’ve accepted it for the people riding them. @hisa_us & @keeneland’s first-of-its-kind racetrack nutrition program is working to change that 🥙

If racehorses only run because they're scared, why don't they stop after 50 feet? A frightened horse flees, stops and reassesses. Horses can run from fear, but also run because they want to. Dr Camie Heleski explains the difference.

It’s a common misconception that Thoroughbred foals are removed from their mothers too early. But as Price Bell from @millridgefarm explains, by weaning time they’ve spent months in a herd and are bigger, stronger and honestly a bit over hanging out with mom 😂

From paddock to racetrack to retirement, a Thoroughbred’s life done right has plenty to be proud of according to Dr Camie Heleski 💛

Don't always believe what you see on TV 🫣 A Thoroughbred's early education takes a few calm weeks, not a few minutes of mayhem.

‘Hancock had a “poetic sense that a moral choice is always within our reach.”’ ‘He was not just well ahead of the pack. For too long, he was the pack. But right up until the time of his death, he kept fighting, and he made a difference.’ Wonderful piece by @BillFinley3 on Mr Hancock’s fight to make racing better.
The Week In Review: Arthur Hancock’s war on drugs and cheaters in racing began publicly in 1991 when he delivered what he called his “drugs-and-thugs speech” to the U. of Arizona Symposium on Racing, and, as @BillFinley3 writes, continued until his death. thoroughbreddailynews.com/th…
