The correct horseshoe matters and our rules cover the heights of horseshoe traction devices, like toe grabs, on different track surfaces. These rules keep the welfare of the horse first and foremost.

When a horse is ready to retire, it's important for the owner or trainer to follow the right steps to move them to the next phase of their career. Since HISA and @jockeyclub are independent, it's important you notify both organizations of a horse's retirement.

Have you heard about the Void Claim Rule?
Horses can be claimed through claiming races when potential owners enter a draw to buy horses. While claiming usually goes smoothly, sometimes claims are voided due to, among other things, injury, death or an adverse analytical finding.

Good nutrition and hydration habits are essential for jockeys during racing. We partnered with @TheNYRA to add a fueling station at @Saratoga1863 this summer to ensure jockeys there had everything they needed to perform at their best.
