The only conclusion is that this government don’t want small business to exist, let alone succeed. Small businesses, home ownership: both are a threat to Labour and they want to discourage them - by destroying them, if that’s what it takes. They want nothing but dependents.

I blame Marxists for turning the fight for women’s rights into a war against men.
They’ve been very good at attaching themselves to the real grievances of minority groups, then convincing people that capitalism is to blame.
I used to believe them too.

WTF? A Prime Minister who has never run a business in his life demands answers because a private business fails? … let me help you, Andy & co.
A retail chain needs to stay in fashion, needs to go with the flow! … But you and successive governments don’t like their “tat” products (mostly sourced off shore to sell them at £1!!! That the whole point right?) anyway…
for free (without a taxpayer funded £MULTIMILLION enquiry I’ll tell you the problems… (you’re welcome)
▪️massively increased regulations and compliance costs.
▪️cheap tat sourced from abroad, with rising shipping and transport costs.
▪️Hit by increased minimum wages and employer National Insurance.
▪️Hit by rising rents and business rates.
▪️Hit by soaring energy bills and net zero costs.
▪️Hit by higher interest rates.
▪️Hit by consumers with less disposable income.
▪️Hit by the soaring cost of borrowing to buy stock months in advance.
▪️Hit by higher insurance premiums.
▪️Hit by shoplifting, organised theft and security costs.
▪️Hit by packaging taxes, recycling regulations and environmental compliance costs.( which you just throw into general taxation, non of it changes the weather)
▪️Hit by higher fuel, warehousing and distribution costs.
▪️Hit by increased employment costs, pensions and statutory obligations.
▪️Hit by competition from overseas online retailers operating with very different overheads.( duty free … for foreign businesses oops)
▪️And hit by the impossibility of passing those costs onto customers, who shop at Poundland precisely because they need cheap stuff! … which isn’t cheap anymore (see above)
Every single time you add something on … so do they!
And the idiot, deluded politicians who have made Britain more and more expensive and difficult to do business in, are demanding to know why businesses are struggling?
You are all moronic. My work here is done 🤡

We don’t have enough housing in this country. Now the Home Office is letting charities fund refugees’ accommodation. Charities receive HUNDREDS of millions of taxpayers’ funding and many get masses of private funding. Many are very wealthy. How are we meant to compete with this? I haven’t even included the billions spent on asylum accommodation.

I once worked with a girl, white English, who married a British born Sri Lankan man. I met him on a few occasions, and he was a very nice guy. They made a good couple.
He eventually proposed, and they got married. They actually had two weddings. One was your typical traditional Western wedding, complete with the white wedding dress, while the other was a traditional Sri Lankan wedding.
The latter, according to her, was awful.
His family hated her. Not because of her personality or anything she'd done wrong, but simply because she was a white woman who didn't fit into their culture. And they made absolutely sure she knew it.
In fact, things were so bad that just several months later, the marriage came to an end.
I can only assume her now ex-husband went on to marry someone his family considered more racially and culturally compatible.
But as @CaliforniaFrizz points out, these stories are rarely spoken about.
There's always this hyperfixation on white families not approving of interracial relationships or being racist towards their children's partners.
The truth is, this sort of prejudice exists among all sorts of different racial and cultural groups. It's certainly not exclusive to white people, despite how often the conversation seems to revolve around them.
My mother was branded a traitor for being a white woman who married a Black man. My father was called a traitor, among many other things, for marrying a white woman. They faced this prejudice in the streets, long before social media existed.
Decades later, I’ve experienced the same hostility, both online and in person, simply for being married to a white man.
White people can be victims of racism too. Yet their experiences are often dismissed or minimised because they don’t fit the narrative. Acknowledging this doesn’t diminish the racism anyone else experiences.
Interracial relationships should be celebrated, not condemned. No one should be abused, vilified or made to feel ashamed of whom they love because of their partner’s skin colour.
Racism is not a competition, and it cannot be condemned selectively based on the colour of the victim.
No exceptions. No double standards.
I wonder if @DailyMail has ever printed a story about a Black or Mixed Race spouse being branded the “traitor” for marrying a white person………..

Some things that British voters have forgotten.
🔴Making a profit is no vice.
🔴Inequality is not evil.
🔴The fact that tax cuts chiefly benefit people who pay taxes is not an argument against them.
🔴Governments spend money less well than you do.
🔴There’s no such thing as a free lunch.

Look at this, stashed away on page 118 of the budget...
The Government is implementing visa salary requirement changes from spring 2027 that will reduce 'occupation-specific minimum salary thresholds from the median to the 25th percentile of wages'.
In short, making it FAR easier for firms to hire migrants.
Why are they lowering barriers to overseas workers instead of training British men and women?
British people do not want more immigration.
At all.

I don’t think this has had the press coverage it deserves. It is insane.
The right to decide who enters Britain belongs to the British state, not to whichever charity has the Home Office’s ear.
The opportunities for favouritism, nepotism and corruption are obvious. A well-connected individual with well-placed supporters will secure nomination over others facing greater persecution. Dodgy intermediaries may well demand money from families seeking sponsorship. Charities could become vehicles for bringing over relatives, associates or even political allies. It risks creating an entire system of private patronage.
I go into all this in more detail here: thecritic.co.uk/labours-gold…

The UK will continue to decline as long as it has two policies that are currently in place.
1. A commitment to end “relative poverty”
Combined with
2. Low-skilled migration
These two things are like strapping a Ferrari to a tractor.
The first rule is a commitment to make sure no one is living below 60% of the average household income.
On its own this might not be a bad idea. We’re all in it together so let’s pull the bottom up.
When this is combined with low-skilled migration it becomes a battle that can’t be won.
Brining in a million people who already fall below the 60% threshold breaks the deal.
Imagine a firm of lawyers. They all commit to making sure no partner earns less than 60% of the average. This goes well because they train up the junior partners. Then one day they decide that the firm will merge with a company that does basic bookkeeping. This company is rapidly expanding too so the game shifts. Now the lawyers have to massively subsidise basic bookkeepers. What would you expect to see happen? The top lawyers would leave because the deal is structurally stacked against them.
This isn’t theory. This is exactly what’s happening under Labour.
