Petr Yan has officially been credited with 118 takedown defenses across his three fights with Merab Dvalishvili, who attempted 136 takedowns.
That’s an 86.8% takedown defense rate.
Dvalishvili also set a new record in their trilogy, attempting 58 takedowns in their third fight.

The reason I say it was a blip where he lost focus is because he started going on drinking binges and taking fights on short notice. Previously, he was ultra professional and would not do something stupid like that. Thankfully, he’s back to the ultra-professionalism.
His downfall had been greatly exaggerated. He had a small blip where he lost his focus, then locked back in and has been in great form again for years now. I said this repeatedly all week, is this isn’t hindsight 20/20. Volk is a true professional, legit one of the all time GOATs
After UFC 298 everyone said Volk is washed up after getting KO’d in back to back fights at 36 years old
After UFC 333 everyone is saying Volk looks the best he ever has after winning his 3rd fight in a row at 38 years old
To me, it’s the greatest career resurgence ever

I love the iPhone Duo so far. Genuinely don’t understand what some of the hate online is about. Clearly people are jealous that they can’t get one until at least February. FOMO does this. Ignore the doubters, go and order it.
Yep. It’s a tale as old as time. Look at Bo Nickal the first time he got hit hard vs RDR. Same type of reaction, quit job. Some fighters have all the athletic advantages in the world, but just don’t like getting hit. Yet people always assume every prospect has an iron chin.
People get caught up in glossy, undefeated records. Usually that just means the fighter is untested, not that they’re proven to be unbeatable.
