Great to see @J_Cree first study from his PhD published looking into fencing footwork and how it’s developed over time between 2012 and 2020 @Olympics #fencing #research #footwork #performancanalysis
Really pleased to get the first study from my PhD published. It investigates the number and effectiveness of attacks using two different footwork methods. We used 2012 & 2020 Olympic Games and coded 136 épée bouts. Thanks to my supervisors @Luke_Oates92 and @anthonyturneruk

It was great to present mine and @HannahHersant research last week @CASESsocial sport and performance division day @UA92MCR
Also, I managed to make it to a home game with @thundernetball getting a win, being more remote this year it was great to work a game in person #netball

Following on from the 2024 international article published with @HannahHersant and with the relaunch of @NetballSL 2.0 it is great to see our research paper examining performance indicators in 2023 and 2024 NSL has been published
journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.…
#research #NSL #netball
Highlights from our paper:
1. There is still a performance difference between top and bottom teams
2. CP and TO to goal we’re above 70% which indicates a threshold for successful performance
3. There had been development since 2008 with large increases in CP, TO and shooting %
4. However there is still a large variation in performances with high ranges for the performance indicators and larger winning margins especially when compared to @SuperNetball
