Lost today to a tough Jefferson team, 10-0. Not the way we wanted the season to end, but I'm extremely proud of our team: from 4 wins last year to 14 this year, and the level of hustle and focus was outstanding — not to mention our hitting and pitching. Keep working hard!
We're on the road tomorrow for a regional semifinal game at Jefferson: 4:30 (Tuesday, 6/2) at Fischer Field. Admission is $6 (cash only). Hope to see you there!

Last night: Great pitching in our 7-0 win from Noel Turek (W, 6 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 5 K). Josiah Van Swol stays hot at the plate (2-2, BB). Next: We're looking forward to playing @CavBaseball today and tomorrow: They're an excellent team and will be a great playoff tuneup for us.
Celebrated our seniors tonight — Gabe, Eli, Josiah, and Charlie — with a 7-0 win over Kenosha Bradford, bringing our winning streak to 7 and our record to 13-7. It's been a pleasure and honor coaching all of you.

Kara Lawson shares a message every competitor needs to hear.
"Don't give me the power to affect your self-esteem, who you are as a person, and how good a practice you can have. Don't ever give someone externally the power to touch you in that way."
Your mindset is yours. Protect it.
"If you give someone externally the power to impact how good a day you're gonna have, what type of attitude you're gonna have, how hard you're gonna work - you're ceding something that's really, really valuable in life."
"You control that. Don't give me that power. Don't let me control whether you're gonna have a good day or not, or whether you feel good about yourself."
You choose how you want to show up.
"No one gets to own you. I don't get to own you. Nobody does. Nobody should."
"Don't give anyone that power. That's important."
Take ownership of yourself, your attitude, your effort, and your confidence.
They all belong to you.

Dawn Staley shares the simple rule that drives playing time decisions.
"I've always told our players: If you play well, you get extended minutes. If you don't, that has to go to somebody else."
"It could be you at times. It could not be you at times."
Playing time is earned, not given.
Successful people don't expect opportunities to just be handed to them.
They prove they deserve them.
They know: YOU GET WHAT YOU EARN.
