RT @Brianr4NY: WE WARNED THIS WOULD HAPPEN! How many New Yorkers need to be shot now before our Dem leaders join our call?! ABOLISH ICE!

Each day that ICE exists is a day that New Yorkers and people across the country risk being terrorized, kidnapped, or killed. This afternoon, federal agents shot a man in Marble Hill. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening. There is no way forward but to ABOLISH ICE.

Earlier today ICE shot someone uptown - this time in range of a 5 year old child. We don’t need any more proof that ICE rips apart families, harasses our neighbors, and recklessly attacks our city. NYers demand an end to ICE. Ni una más!

ICE is out of control. There is reporting that they have shot yet another person in our streets during an operation in Marble Hill. We need justice for the victim and I will work in the state senate to hold those who harm New Yorkers accountable. From the Bronx to Queens, ABOLISH ICE.

This afternoon, ICE shot and hospitalized someone in Marble Hill, in my district. There is no reforming a terrorizing, unaccountable militia. Our neighbors are not targets. Abolish ICE NOW. Not one more life should be harmed to its guns or its prisons. gothamist.com/news/person-sh…

This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed. This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities. Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery. Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children. Abolish ICE.

War criminal Netanyahu is in NYC today to address the United Nations. More elected officials need to be speaking out and taking action. I wrote this op-ed in @CityandStateNY about what elected officials can do to cut off US support for Israeli genocide. cityandstateny.com/opinion/2…

Darializa was just arrested while peacefully protesting Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations. Our government has unlimited funds to arm a genocide against Palestinians but tells us there's nothing left to feed and house our own people. Stop arming Israel!
BREAKING: Over 400 New Yorkers are risking arrest in a mass anti-war sit-in outside the United Nations during Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech to say: Stop the genocide and stop arming Israel. We are Jewish, Palestinian, Iranian, and Lebanese. We are veterans, descendants of Holocaust survivors, young people, grandmothers, rabbis, elected officials, actors, and comedians. We are united in outrage and we will not stand by as war criminals are given a platform to speak in our city. We join thousands of protestors across the city who are taking action all week to say: BLOCK THE BOMBS. END THE GENOCIDE. LET GAZA LIVE.

FUND PEOPLE NOT BOMBS! I joined 400+ protesters, including incoming congressmembers @MelatKirosCO @chrisrabb @DarializaforNY @HamawyForNJ ahead of war criminal Netanyahu’s UN speech. We're calling for an end to genocide, an end to U.S. funding to Israel, and a Free Palestine.

Twenty-five years ago today, our city, and our country, were changed forever. Nearly 3,000 people woke up as if it were any other day. They went to work, met friends for breakfast, boarded a plane, or answered an emergency response call, and never made it home. Today, I am thinking of the families who have carried that loss for 25 years: the children whose parents were never able to pick them up after their schools were evacuated, the spouses who called their partners endlessly but could only reach an answering machine, and the brave first responders who gave their lives trying to save New Yorkers and protect our city in its time of need.  Honoring the souls we lost that day – the families, and the survivors from Ground Zero – requires more than remembrance, it requires accountability. Thousands of people were exposed to toxic dust and chemicals in the months after the attacks because city officials told them the air was safe when they knew it wasn’t. Many have suffered chronic illness or premature death as a result of those lies. This is a betrayal by leaders who knew better, and who used the lives of people killed that day to call for war, but never to heal the people 9/11 and its aftermath left behind. We owe these families full, permanent funding for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, and the World Trade Center Health Program, and answers as to why this hasn’t happened sooner.  September 11th was an attack on everything New York represents: a home for people of every background, a city where Greek food sits next door to a taqueria, and around the corner from a halal Brazilian steakhouse. Our people are what make New York what it is and we have proven time and time again that when we come together as New Yorkers, we are the greatest city in the world.

25 years ago, terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people, including 2,753 New Yorkers. As we remember that terrible day, let us also remember the first responders, office workers and strangers who ran toward danger to help each other. Let us remember the extraordinary compassion, resilience and bravery that carried our city through its darkest day. Today, New York remembers. We will Never Forget.

Tonight we may see some fast-moving, scattered thunderstorms across our city. These storms often bring heavy rain and strong winds — both of which can be dangerous if you don’t seek shelter and exercise caution. If you’re planning to enjoy fireworks tonight, keep a close eye on updates from event organizers. As we saw last night, storms can develop quickly. Sign up for emergency weather alerts by texting NOTIFYNYC to 692-692.

.@Shamsul4Queens is only down by 2 votes as of today and I expect that margin will be reduced to 1 shortly. Manual recount will be noticed by the BOE for a date next week. We will count every vote and we are ready to leave no stone unturned. ✊🏽⚖️🗳️ #QueensGetTheVotes
Per BOE, the last few ballots from AD 66 and AD 30 are coming in today. They'll be counted tomorrow, at which point it should be clear whether they meet the threshold (under 0.5%) for an auto recount. Would be next week at the earliest. AD30 almost certainly going to a recount

AD 30 too close to call and looks like there will be a legally required manual recount. Mail ballots submitted today still to be counted. We are all in for @Shamsul4Queens! @MDCNY

Espaillat thinks if he files donations late, we won't notice who's in there. Adriano Espaillat is taking AIPAC donations. From the same people who fund Republicans. Not only is Adriano Espaillat selling us out to AIPAC & Republicans, but he's trying to slip it past us.
