What an unholy mess. I don't know whether KS himself knew or didn't know but I'm finding it hard to believe noone at no.10 knew. What benefit would it be to Olly Robbins to unilaterally override security vetting and not tell anyone? #Mandelson

On Trump from former Chief of Staff Dep of Homeland Security: "We were literally told to stop sending him documents to read that were longer than a page in length, and, where possible, to provide information in pictures instead of words." Just great. liveapp.inews.co.uk/category…
He is right and it's disappointing Keir Starmer was so dismissive in his response. #Gbeebies
Very troubling reading which only serves to reinforce my original thoughts about @GBNEWS when it first launched. Impartiality rules are there for a reason. #Gbeebies
Since @Ofcom seems to have given up, we asked 20 experienced journalist from a wide range of backgrounds to watch multiple hours of @GBNEWS . Their conclusion: the supposedly regulated channel has, in effect, become Reform TV. How did it happen? thenewworld.co.uk/alan-rusbr…

Crown Courts have a backlog of 80,000 cases because the justice system has been underfunded for decades. Not because people have the right to a jury trial.
If true this really doesn't look good. What happened to the due diligence @UKLabour ? Too much time spent trawling for non-stories against certain prospective parliamentary candidates yet not picking this up? 🤷♀️

Loses. Fairly convincingly. And then blames Muslims. There are some dangerous people in British politics and he's near the top of the list

Brexit’s tragedy: we gambled on free trade just as the world turned protectionist; we dismissed European continental solidarity as the platform for our security just as events made it more important than ever; and we bet the farm on the Special Relationship just as Trump arrived.

🚨BREAKING: In a tremendous blow to Donald Trump, the House has just voted to END Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canadian goods.
Six Republicans voted with the Democrats: Massie, Fitzpatrick, Newhouse, Kiley, Hurd, and Bacon. Trump’s control is slipping.
I can't understand why the vetting has been so poor for these public appointments - just get the team who did the vetting for prospective candidate selections on board. They love digging up stuff. @UKLabour @LabourWomensNet
Timeline as I understand it.
- 3 December 2025: @elenicourea @PippaCrerar report that Doyle has been offered a peerage
- 4 December 2025: McSweeney warned about Doyle/Morton association at Scottish Labour gala; PM's new co-chief of staff, Jill Cuthbertson, told around the same time
- Post 4 December 2025: No10 launches inquiry into Doyle/Morton links
- 10 December 2025: Doyle appears on political peerages list
- 27 December 2025: Sunday Times splashes details of relationship; No10 claims it "thoroughly investigated" the matter and is satisfied no issues; Downing St will not says who conducted several interviews with Doyle or what they asked/discovered
- 7 January 2026: 9 MPs submit motion expressing concerns about the peerage
- 8 January 2026: Letters patent sealed, confirming Doyle peerage
- 12 January 2026: Doyle introduced to the chamber
- 10 February 2026: Doyle was whip suspended
I do hope they get some answers but I fear not. @LabourWomensNet you really need to push harder on this. Too many of the @UKLabour poor decisions of recent times made by a small cabal of men. #endtheboysclub
PM up on his feet for #pmqs - but after this he’ll be addressing the women’s parliamentary Labour Party and several women MPs tell me they want to see “genuine self reflection” from the PM and to see that he’s “listening, taken on board people’s concerns”. There’s genuine concern the PM failed to listen to women’s voices in the past despite giving them jobs.
How about instead of referencing the Labour Party Rule Book to point score and prolong unnecessary and unhelpful factional in-fighting, you all start following what it says? And where it's unclear, you spend some time rewriting it so it is clear?
Replying to @lmharpin

“I have decided to stand down to allow a new No 10 team to be built. I wish the PM and his team every success,” he said.
This is not good but not surprising. Too many candidate selections have been handled in a less than procedurally robust manner. These practices need to be rooted out if the public are going to regain any trust of its politicians. @UKLabour @LabourWomensNet
💯this. Anyone who took part in the parliamentary candidates selection "process" 2022 to 2024 knows that it could not be described as having been conducted fairly or with procedural integrity. It needs complete overhaul. @LabourWomensNet @UKLabour
