having sat with it, i’m slightly upset with part of this review. i believe it needs to be revisited in a few months once developers have actually had a chance to validate apps and get their experience functioning at 100% on Duo. my issue was the conclusion made about this device with regards to app support are unfair to the app developers, who like everyone else, are stuck waiting for real hardware to ship—in some cases, they’ll be waiting until January at the earliest. i am one of the people who are waiting in a queue, i literally can’t do my job until it comes. i’m lucky i’m not late in that queue, but it means users will be without optimized apps for longer! Simulator/Device Hub isn’t a great indicator of how something will work on-device. it can get you 99% of the way there but you still have to validate on real hardware at some point. that is precisely the reason why so many apps aren’t “day 1 ready.” my thought is that it should’ve been left at what was essentially ‘apps are going to look weird for a bit’ w/ no conclusions attributed to that. idk. just my two cents.
