No man should end up sleeping in his car or on the street because his relationship has broken down. Services across Adelaide report more men aged 40–50 becoming homeless after relationship breakdown, financial stress and rising living costs. @HuttStCentre saw over 2,200 people in 2024/25 – 63% men – and a 23% rise in rough sleeping, while Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre is at capacity. My questions to the President to address the growing crisis in men’s mental health and homelessness in South Australia: • Do you acknowledge the link between relationship breakdown and men’s homelessness? • What support exists specifically for men experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity? • What immediate action will you take as services say they are overwhelmed? Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the inaugural Parliamentary Friends of Men’s Wellbeing Forum. As highlighted in the speeches of the Hon Blair Boyer MP, Minister for Health and Wellbeing and the Hon Dennis Hood MLC, times are changing, and men’s health is finally becoming part of the public conversation. A sincere thank you to the outstanding guest speakers: • Professor Gary Wittert, Director of Adelaide University's Centre for Male Health and Wellbeing • Derrick McManus, Leader in the field of Human Durability, and former Police Special Task and Rescue (STAR) Group Officer It was an excellent networking event, bringing together a diverse range of organisations, advocates and community leaders who are passionate about improving outcomes for men and boys. This forum is only the beginning. I will continue to push for a Minister for Men in Parliament and ensure men’s mental health remains firmly on the agenda.

Establishing a 'Men's Roundtable' is one of the goals of my Parliamentary Friends of Men’s Wellbeing forum, which would be equivalent to the Premier's Council for Women and would advise the government on policies and programs specifically related to men and advocate on their behalf. It was great to catch up with Professor Gary Wittert today to discuss what this roundtable might look like. The Men’s Wellbeing forum - and the subsequent roundtable - will form part of my ongoing advocacy, which so far includes: ✅ Secured funding to develop a Men’s Health Checklist app ✅ Secured funding to establish the Suicide Prevention Fellowship in Men’s Mental Health ✅ Had International Men’s Day officially recognised in SA Parliament ✅ Hosted the state’s largest International Men's Day event since 2023, celebrating the positive impact men play in society and raising funds for frontline charities With plenty more still to come, stay tuned.

Australian citizens should NOT be penalised for legally owning firearms. I recently wrote to the Premier to ask whether the South Australian Government is planning a firearms buyback scheme. I will not support any further gun control restrictions that penalise lawful firearm ownership and use by Australian citizens. Fair Go is totally committed to supporting South Australian farmers, hunters, and shooters, and protecting their right to gun ownership.

There are two genders, male and female. Gender is determined by one's biological sex. The sex of a baby and thus their gender is determined at fertilisation. We must not be afraid to state this biological truth.

My Parental Primacy Bill will ensure parents – not agenda-driven schools and governments – are responsible for educating their children on issues of morality, ethics, politics, social values, personal wellbeing, and identity, including gender and sexuality. I’ll always stand up FOR family values – and stand up AGAINST societal and educational trends that harm the family unit. We must give parents a Fair Go by restoring that power to them.

I’m the only sitting member who has opposed all race-based laws. I have legislation to repeal SA’s divisive Voice to Parliament, not “reform” it, like other parties have now promised. No amount of fiddling around the edges will “fix” this – because race-based policies are wrong in principle. My First Nations Voice Repeal Bill aligns SA government policy with the democratic decision made by South Australians in 2023, when over 64% of them voted ‘no’ to a federal Voice. Only Fair Go for Australians believes everyone should be equal under the law.

Compromised experts influenced by outside interests – like ‘Big Pharma’ for example – cannot sit on the new SA Preventive Health Council, thanks to my legislation passing both houses of parliament late last year. Last week The Murray Pioneer explained my amendment among its broader coverage of this important new SA Health body, which focuses on factors that lead to preventable health conditions (like tobacco, vaping, alcohol, drugs and obesity). I’m still getting positive feedback about it and I'm glad SA people are now guaranteed a Fair Go from the Council’s members.

We raised more than $150,000 for men’s health charities, supporting those on the ground who are helping prevent suicide among men.
