Looks like we’re on our way Cody. Great work on your end, and as usual you’ll have detractors and that’s true for everyone that attempts to make a difference, but that’s par for the course.
Tonight the U.S. Senate passed the Protecting College Sports Act, through an overwhelming and bipartisan 77-22, vote! Congratulations and thank you to @tedcruz @SenatorCantwell, @Senator_Schmitt, @ChrisCoons, their staffs, and Senate Commerce staff. Also huge thanks to @realDonaldTrump, @WhiteHouse staff, the legendary Randy Levine and Nick Saban, Dary Stone, and thousands of athletes, hundreds of universities, dozens of conferences, and innumerable passionate fans who helped make history tonight.
This bill is a huge step forward in protecting opportunity, stability, and sustainability of this uniquely American institution - especially women’s sports, our Olympic programs, and the often-forgotten communities that revolve around and depend on college sports.
We strongly urge the House to move as quickly as possible and send this bill to the President’s desk!

This is coming from a BYU fan who has never placed a bet in his life.
If the NCAA permanently bans Brendan Sorsby, I will be disgusted.
Not because gambling rules don’t matter. They do. Not because athletes should be allowed to bet on college sports. They shouldn’t.
But because there is a massive difference between protecting the integrity of the game and destroying a young man’s life over an addiction he is now getting treatment for.
By all current reporting, Sorsby did not bet on games he played in, did not bet against his own team, and there is no allegation that he tried to influence an outcome.
Meanwhile, college football has spent years finding ways for players with far uglier off-field issues to return to the field. And the same college sports ecosystem that lectures athletes about gambling has become increasingly entangled with sportsbooks, betting content, official data deals, and gambling-adjacent money.
So yes, punish him. Fine him. Suspend him. Require treatment. Require education. Put guardrails around him.
But a permanent ban?
That would not be justice. That would be the NCAA trying to look righteous by punishing him for participating in the exact betting culture that they have contributed in building.
I stand with Brendan.

Beer Review-Peak Organic Summer Session-An easy to drink 5% ABV ale. Has quite a few different sweetnesses: some grapefruit, some citrus, along with a tropical feel while having nice bread-feel to it. It has some pine that does not turn bitter along with a clean finish. 7.5/10

Friday Night Lights are sacred in the Great State of Texas! It is absolutely absurd that the @Big12Conference and @FOXSports would consider scheduling @TexasTechFB and @UHCougarFB on a Friday night (October 18th)!! I know that @brettyormark is not a native Texan, but he’s been here long enough to know better! Come on, man!

A friend of mine just sent me this. Playing $1.50 a spin hit for $11,533. Wanted to know what to tip? Between the slot attendants, cleaning staff, waitress and cage cashier he tipped out almost $1000. He said “it makes me feel good to give money to people” 👍😉👍

Texas spent more than Tech on their roster and didn't make the playoffs. hightopsport.com/the-10-bigg…

Initial postgame reactions have settled a bit. Hat tip to Oregon; they were deserving winners today. The offense was obviously a disappointment but the defense proved it was among the very best in the nation.
Only one team gets to be national champs every year, and it obviously won’t be Texas Tech for 2025. Still, the greatest team in Red Raider history achieved a hell of a lot:
• Big 12 Champions
• 12-win season, all by 22+ points
• Three wins vs. Top 15 teams
• Four wins vs. 10+ win teams
• Four All-Americans
• Nagurski Trophy
• Bednarik Award
• Butkus Award
• Lombardi Award
• Wins on Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday
• Power 4 CCG attendance record
We got to watch individual players turn into legends, future first round NFL Draft picks, the best player in college football, and the most dominant defense in Big 12 history.
Special season. Proud as hell and thankful to everyone who made it happen. How can you not be excited about the trajectory of this program?
West Texas forever #WreckEm

Last time I’ll tweet about the game. Obviously not the way 2 wanted to go out. Kid loves Tech to death. Since he’ll get zero recognition for his college success after today, I’ll make sure it’s not forgotten.

Say what you want about his performance today, but Behren goes down in history as one of the elite QB’s to put on the Scarlett and Black. Proud of him!
