Winning a Bible Belt seat after saying this would validate the progressive anti AIPAC strategy almost as much as El-Sayed winning
Let me be clear: I will never take a penny from AIPAC or Super PACs that don’t put Mississippi and America first. This Senate seat belongs to the people of Mississippi. That’s who I’ll answer to.

Senator-elect @AbdulElSayed reacts to becoming the first Muslim elected to the Senate: “I took a bet on the goodness of the people in Michigan.” “I’m just proud of my state for showing up and saying, we are bigger than this kind of divisiveness.”

What we witnessed last night should make it clear to both the Republican Party and the Democratic establishment that transformational leaders running in blue, purple, and deep-red states with an inspiring progressive message—rejecting corporate money, AIPAC, and ending our endless wars while fighting for working families—can win all across the country. A huge thanks to Sen. @BernieSanders for the movement he has built.
Democrats will now control the House and Senate and be able to hold Trump accountable. That's great. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, we must do more. We must aggressively fight for working families. No more excuses.

"Both parties are to blame for this feeling of neglect all across the UP and Northern Michigan. Republicans take these voters for granted. Most Democrats don’t even bother campaigning there. I’m running for Senate because no Michigander deserves to be left behind. That’s why we’ve held over 700 events in over 120 cities. I’ve sat down with Michiganders from all walks of life, all of whom are hurting from the Rogers-Trump agenda and are hungry for change. We’re seeing historic momentum in unlikely places. Rural districts, from Escanaba to Port Huron to Cadillac, are showing up and showing out for our campaign. Hundreds of former Trump voters line up for hours to attend our town halls. Because they know they deserve better. They deserve not to suffer under a broken system that’s been broken since long before Trump. So I mean it when I say our campaign is open to all who are in search of a better future. As senator, I will always put Michigan first and fight for each and every member of our state." - @AbdulElSayed

This campaign is taking on the powerful with three simple ideas: money out of politics, money in your pocket, and Medicare for All. Watch our closing ad.

Absolutely incredible
NEWS: @AbdulElSayed raised over $2.4 million yesterday, shattering the campaign’s single-day fundraising record. More than 65,000 donors contributed an average of $36.74. As Abdul showed in the primary—and will show again tomorrow—the many will beat the money.

Abdul up 11 in the NYT poll, with everyone from the center-left to the far left rejecting Haley Stevens. You absolutely love to see it.
Rep. Haley Stevens' endorsement of Mike Rogers was despicable, and she must be removed from the House Democratic Caucus, @hakeemjeffries. We will double down our efforts to elect @AbdulElSayed on Tuesday. Joint statement from @IfNotNowOrg @MPowerAction & @OurRevolution:

It appears that no one actually read Haley Stevens's ransom note to @AbdulElSayed. It did not just say, denounce the Rebellion PAC ad and we're good. She also distorts his words and demands Abdul apologize for saying the war with Iran is the reason for inflation.
This isn’t about Haley Stevens. It’s about the basic question she raised: Why won’t El-Sayed just condemn the Jew-hating ad? News flash: You can be for lower costs and stand up to hate at the same time. jewishinsider.com/2026/10/el…

Progressive orgs, including the Muslim group MPower change, defend Abdul El-Sayed and implicitly hit out at Haley Stevens. "Attacks on Abdul El-Sayed because of his statements criticizing Israel or condemning the Gaza genocide are a reflection of ongoing Islamophobic attacks on Muslim candidates for public office."
Our Revolution joins Jewish Voice for Peace Action and MPower Action in condemning the Islamophobic attacks against Abdul El-Sayed. We stand with Abdul—and against efforts to weaponize his faith or silence his advocacy for Palestinian rights. Read our joint statement:

Congratulations, @HaleyforMI for getting the Republican nominee's support. Well done. 🙄
Representative Haley Stevens is a courageous leader who deserves the respect of every Michigan voter. She has conducted herself with nothing but class since the Democratic primary, a primary where a majority of voters did not vote for her party’s nominee. She was absolutely right to call on Abdul El-Sayed to denounce the Rebellion PAC ad and she was right to call on him to apologize for espousing the same hateful ideology behind it. Representative Stevens’ statement expressed a hope that Abdul El-Sayed “had heard the deep concerns of the Jewish Community.” It is as shameful as it is disappointing that his response to her clearly shows that he does not care about those concerns.  In her statement, the Congresswoman says, “ the Jewish and African-American communities of my district deserve to have someone show up for them, rather than fight over them.” I agree with her and my campaign is about being there, showing up and defending these communities and all Michiganders.
