Manchester United need to be freed of the yoke of the Glazers. That’s obvious. Been saying it since 2005. But how? It’s difficult to force regime change. A few United fans suggesting they’d welcome relegation as it would make the Glazers consider selling up. It might make them more likely to hold on as a PL club worth far more than EFL. A few fans suggesting a boycott of games - but why should loyal fans stop watching their team? And the club could simply get tourists in if a few games missed.
A boycott of the megastore and catering is obvious (and already done by some fans) but that would also hit staff and temporary workers. Chants and banners make a point to the world how reviled the absentee Glazers are. But probably won’t worry the distant Glazers. They can point to money invested in transfers (and spent badly) but it’s not their personal money. It’s money generated by the fans.
United have some very influential fans’ groups, fanzines, forums and pods. Would lobbying the Independent Football Regulator about whether the Glazers are “fit and proper owners” (in old parlance) have any effect? At the very least, there is a strong case for lobbying the IFR and Government about updating legislation to preclude debt-based takeovers (the IFR has an advisory role to Parliament).
It’s certainly a national embarrassment that the most high-profile representative of the national sport has such substantial debt and such deeply unpopular owners associated with it. Sadly, like a stubborn stain, the Glazers will take some shifting. #MUFC

We're fighting relegation, knocked out of the Carabao Cup, haven't won in 9 games and are now jeopardising our chances of qualifying for the Champions League Round of 16. But let's wait until the international break to make a managerial change.
All we're doing is making an already difficult job even harder for the next manager. What a complete waste of time.

There’s a certain irony to Carrick’s predicament.
He places enormous trust in experienced players like Maguire, Martinez, Dalot, Shaw etc. and they are not repaying that faith.
He even moves Yoro, a young CB to RB to accommodate Martinez in CB.
When your preferred senior players repeatedly let you down, at what point does their selection become a reflection of your own judgement?
You cannot separate a manager from the decisions he makes.

Lisandro Martinez has been the worst player in the Premier League so far this season.
He’s now been the main man responsible for United dropping points in three matches, and his latest embarrassment at Stamford Bridge on Saturday came in three instalments.
Quite why Martinez is playing so badly is up for debate, but this can’t go on. Manchester United can’t field a player who is constantly costing them with errors that, more than anything else, look like his heart isn’t in it.
📝 @Zonal_Marking on the issue with Martinez.

- It was the players under Ten Hag.
- It was the players under Amorim.
- It's the players under Carrick.
And it will be the players under ANY MANAGER. Bring Guardiola, bring Enrique, bring whoever the f*ck you want. The same story will repeat itself.
UNLESS A MAJOR SQUAD OVERHAUL HAPPENS, led by a manager who's given at least 3 years to rebuild this team and set the standards, NOTHING WILL CHANGE.
THIS WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE STORY OF MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB.

🚨If we’re going to keep LOSING, I’d rather watch our U21 lads giving EVERYTHING for the badge than these overpaid players who barely look bothered. I’d DROP half this squad immediately.
If I were Carrick, I’d throw the youngsters in against Roma and Aston Villa before his inevitable sacking after Villa. At least let us lose with players who actually GIVE A SHIT!

Manchester United needs to be built from the ground up. Enough of this patches.
1. Sign a top class manager who is tactically sound with a good/incredible CV AND stick with him no matter what.
2. Recruitment needs a complete overhaul. We need players who fit the system, who are hungry with mentality and stop handling out ridiculous wages so when a player doesn't work out we can ship him out immediately.
3. The board should support the manager FULLY and recruit his first or second choice options on his shortlist. Stay patient with the manager as well.

Our league position is a fair reflection of where things stand at this club.
We are a mediocre club led by mediocre people who don’t know what this club stands for.
The fans are the only saving grace. That’s because they have no choice but to support this club.
It’s a one sided relationship.

During such a difficult period for Manchester United, Lisandro Martínez receives a red card in a crucial match against Chelsea. 😬🫠

Everything is shambolic with this club from the owners, players and manager.
This is what rock bottom feels like.

I am livid. United chop and change so many managers because these players are IMBECILES.
Completely in the match in the first half. Martinez has let Carrick down massively. Now going to get battered.
Fuck off. Fuming.

Lisandro Martinez is a disgrace. I would keep Carrick onboard to help conduct a clear out before new manager comes on board.
We can’t let another coach suffer with the poisonous twats in this squad.

Lisandro Martinez has ran his mouth against the hierarchy (fairly) has backed it up with no responsibility on himself, playing terribly, scoring own goals and now getting himself sent off, conceding a penalty.

Chelsea played at Anfield on Wednesday night and went through a full match plus a long penalty shootout.
United play them at 12:30 GMT on Saturday. That compressed recovery window should shape the plan: force repeated accelerations early, press restarts and make Chelsea defend before the game settles.

This Ballon d’Or ranking is another reason to show that the EPL PR is currently low. The supposed best players in the EPL last season couldn’t even crack the top 10. Rice was 15th, the best player in the EPL last season was 27th, and Saliba and Gabriel couldn’t even crack the top 20. Yet, this is a team that reached the Champions League final.
Don’t know how to say it, but it’s a shame on the PR of the league. We keep hearing how the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world, how the quality is unmatched, and how every team is capable of beating anyone. But when it comes to individual recognition, suddenly the players aren’t good enough.
Look at how players from other leagues are marketed and celebrated. The Premier League has the money, the audience, and the global reach, yet it still struggles to give its best players the recognition their performances deserve. That was how Messi won the award over Haaland in 2023. it’s nonsense honestly.
They need to do better honestly.
