UPDF Suspends All Military Cooperation with Türkiye

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has with immediate effect suspended all and any Defence and Military cooperation with the Republic of Türkiye. The measure will remain in force until outstanding issues of mutual defence and military cooperation between the two countries are resolved.

Annual Bazaar: Bigger Market Space, Low Prices and Freebies
The 2026 Nkumba University Guild Bazaar has been hailed by students as a major improvement, with a bigger market space, affordable prices and a range of freebies adding to the excitement.
Second-year, first-semester student Joshua Masaaba says the bazaar is evidence that previous Guild Governments could have done more to enhance the student experience. “The 2026 Guild Bazaar is just proof that previous Guild Presidents didn’t do enough,” said Masaaba.
Guild President H.E. Martin Ssentiba Ssempijja says his administration remains committed to delivering on its promises to students, with more initiatives in the pipeline. "As we promised, priority remains giving you the best. We have this, and a lot more is coming,” said Ssentiba Ssempijja.
The bazaar has attracted a variety of vendors offering students commodities at what organizers describe as affordable prices, alongside freebies and entertainment.
The event has also featured performances by musicians including Latty Neka and Rachael Ray, with NRG Radio joining other event partners to add to the entertainment experience.
The annual bazaar continues to provide students with a platform to shop, interact and unwind while enjoying entertainment on campus.
