The Shias really done well with that loud Salawat they do in unison when the name of the prophet (pbuh) is mentioned. Can we do that too?

Ti's a lie. We all know the sect that instigated his killing. But because they are very powerful and powerful political backers, no body is mentioning their names. But we all know them.
Ansaru Claims Responsibility for the Killing of Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka. The terrorist group Ansaru, which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for killing the prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka at his home in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, according to a post by security affairs commentator Barrister Audu Bulama Bukarti. According to him, the group confirmed the claim in a voice message released on Tuesday. In it, they accused the cleric of being an infidel (kafir) without specifying any particular offence he was alleged to have committed. In the message, Ansaru said it carried out the attack at about 8:30 p.m. Although the speaker referred to Tuesday as the day of the incident, reports indicate that the killing actually took place on Monday. The group also accused Sheikh Masussuka of opposing what it called Islamic teachings. However, it is speculated that his advocacy for peace and interfaith dialogue may have contributed to him being targeted. According to Barrister Audu Bulama Bukarti, the cleric was planning to organise a major peace conference, which may have been one of the reasons the group considered him a target. Ansaru broke away from Boko Haram in 2012 following disagreements with the leadership of Abubakar Shekau. Since then, it has mainly operated in the North-West, particularly in Zamfara, Kaduna, and Niger states. The report notes that Ansaru’s claim of responsibility further highlights the threats faced by peace advocates and those promoting interfaith dialogue in parts of the country.

To every founder, engineer, and dreamer gathered at the National Theatre in Lagos today for Moonshot by @TechCabal: you have built world-class companies in spite of policy, and I want to be the President who builds policy that works for you. I will give young companies tax relief in their early years. I will also make the government your customer by digitising public services, budgeting, and procurement, and I will require every new development to be fibre-ready. You have proven what Nigerian talent can do alone. Imagine what it can do with a government on its side. -AA #MoonshotByTechCabal #Moonshot2026

That’s one cannon, how about the many other cannons. Many from the scholarly circles, spewing similar threats and violent rhetoric. Just today in the timeline, I have seen like 5 of them, endorsing similar violent actions.
The JIBWIS authorities have tracked down the man in the viral video calling for violence in Jos and Enugu and handed him over to security personnel. It appears they have finally agreed that this loose cannon needs to be brought to order. The hypocrisy, however, lies in how some people are desperately trying to portray the video as AI generated.

I totally blame the authorities for the madness going on in the North. If individuals who pose potential terrorist threats like this man can roam freely without consequences, then we clearly don’t have a functional society.
Talking about extremism: this man, who is asking people to kill whoever "insults" the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (I.e: Shiites), is said to be currently a local government chairman in Kaduna State. We are in a deeper shiiiittt.

There is no difference between someone who commits an act of terrorism, someone who takes pleasure in it, someone who supports it, and someone who tries to justify it. They are all terrorists.

A final note on Masussuka, closing a chapter. Whatever one’s position on the slained cleric, it is difficult to dismiss the significance of the movement he led. He reinvigorate the Qur’aniyyu whom we once view with disdain, arrogance, and described as 1/5

I see all of this as a subtle attempt to desensitise people to having empathy for a man killed by terrorists who are also making the same argument as you did. You guys don't even know that terrorists don't care what sect you belong to if you don't join them. They will kill us all

Replying to @restofworld
@RestofWorld will publish its final stories at the end of January. I’ve been sitting with this news for a few days, and I keep thinking about how personal this project was for me. When Sophie Schmidt asked me to help build Rest of World, it felt like a chance to fix something I’d been frustrated by for my whole career: seeing the parts of the world I come from covered as an afterthought. I was there at the beginning, with a handful of hires and a bet that sounded obvious to us and strange to almost everyone else: that most of the world’s internet users live outside the West, and their stories deserved to be covered with the same depth, ambition, and care. We didn’t want to cover “emerging markets.” We wanted to cover the people who were building, hacking, gig-working, organizing, and surviving through technology in countries like Nepal, where I grew up. We hired reporters who lived those stories rather than parachuted into them. We edited from the assumption that a delivery rider in Lagos was as important a protagonist as a CEO in San Francisco. The thousands of stories Rest of World published helped change how a lot of newsrooms think about who tech journalism is for. Media ventures end for many reasons, and most of them are economic. That doesn’t change what Rest of World was able to prove: the audience was real, the journalism mattered, and the model of covering the world from the world actually works. Thank you to Sophie for making the publication possible for all these years; to Christine Glancey, Michael Donohoe, Michael Zelenko, Itika Sharma Punit, Rina Chandran, Indranil Ghosh, and the team for carrying it this far; and to every reporter, editor, designer, and producer who passed through Rest of World and made it what it was. A special shout-out to Eli Berger, who’s been a rock for Rest of World since the beginning, navigating us through Covid-19, messy international hiring, legal threats, reporter safety, and a dozen other things. The publication’s archive is a gift. I encourage everyone to read it. And if you’re hiring, hire Rest of World’s journalists. You won’t find a better group of people.

From Minna to Abuja for the 2026 Future of Health Conference! Focus is on scaling health innovations, advancing Universal Health Coverage, climate-health & stronger health financing. Our system is structurally fractured-the frustration is real.
