Was it a mistake to flatten all socioeconomic strata into simply “the 1%” and “everyone else”?
Also, a lot of the 1% work for a living, making them working class under the expanded definition.
Replying to @janecoaston
Concept creep is a thing. “Working class” is now supposed to mean anyone who has to work for a living.

This is a myth. The peak of British housebuilding was interwar, not postwar. It was steadily declining even before Thatcher and British housing outcomes were already worse than a lot of Western Europe before Thatcher’s Right to Buy.

2008 House of Representatives
Texas 🗳
🟥 Rep 76
🟦 Dem 74
It’s pretty crazy that it was this close in 2008, especially when Texas was defined as a red state it’s not like they’re going to lose 20+ seats or anything……

Dems are beyond foolhardy if they nominate anyone even tangentially connected to the Biden admin in 2028. why bedevil the party & candidate with endless questions about WHEN they knew Biden was a walking corpse & WHY they said nothing about it. pray for Ossoff or new blood!
The New York Times did an open-ended 2028 question and they found Harris to be a much weaker front-runner than other surveys nytimes.com/2026/10/24/us/de…

So what’s the takeaway when Scott Colom inevitably loses by 10+ points or are we just gonna keep playing this silly little game in MS every time CHS runs?

Gas prices will remain above $4 a gallon (nat'l average) through the election. That's a significant shift from recent past. Even 2022 was about fifty cents lower
November 2026: Likely to be ~$4.30 to $4.40
November 2024: $3.07
November 2022: $3.80
November 2020: $2.11
November 2018: $2.75
November 2016: $2.23
Brent oil prices just spiked to nearly their highest level since the war in Iran began ($116, about $2 off the spring highs). WTI oil price for the US just topped $103, which is about $10 off the spring highs.
Bottom line: Oil/gas prices aren't going down until there's a resolution to the war.

We *do* have a production based economy. We produce real, meaningful wealth.
There are lots of goods for Marxists to steal.
This counterargument doesn't make sense.

Gunther Fehlinger is so funny because everyone assumes he’s an Austrian politician or Eurocrat or something of the sort when he just isn’t. You have to fake it until you make it.
