A great example of a shared decision making between a patient and MDT. Haemodialysis access planning, options of R) RCF and L) pAVF. Opted for R) RCF but was abandoned on the day (suboptimal vessels). Proceeded to succession plan of pAVF with great results.#pAVF#medtronicellipsys

Found tight anastomosis stenosis 1.1mm
Treated with USG retrograde Radial artery puncture 5x20mm pBA and 6x40mm DCB. 2 weeks follow up.

Thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection (#TAAD) is a low frequent disease with unkown population based incidence and prevalence. Due to its long asymptomatic development until symptoms or even rupture with often fatal course occur, screening considerations are important.
In this cross sectional single centre cohort study of 95 patients who gave full informed consent for genetic sequencing and underwent endovascular or open repair of #TAAD between 2008 and 2019, genetic variants were found in 40% while classical variants made 18% of all variants. There was no association between relevant phenotypes, comorbidities, and genetic variants.
Genetic variants are highly present in clinically relevant thoracic aortic pathologies. They may play a larger role than previously described in the literature.
