Huge congratulations to my brother, the coach, Dr Pitso Mosimane (@therealpitso), on the launch of his book and coaching manual, a work set to shape the future of football coaching in Africa, at both player and coach level. 🇿🇦⚽📖 A proud, proud moment. 🧵

During my time at Infront, I had the privilege of being part of an ambitious digital spin-off lead by an ex-Googler. InfrontX as it was called, went on to revolutionise how seemingly traditional rights holders can reinvigorate the sports value chain with a bias towards fan engagement. At NextXI this bias is towards automated content production and data for talent identification. Some of the two pillars underdeveloped regions are lagging behind.
Innovation is a mindset, no matter how big you are. At NextXI we orchestrate it across the youth football value chain, with competition, production, distribution, commercial participation and talent context held together as one system. That is what a youth sports media platform does, and the category is moving from leagues to platform. Visibility and reach, commercial power and talent and trust. nextxi.co.za ⚽ #NextXI #YouthFootball #YouthSportsMedia #FootballInnovation

Well done to the NextXI team in Cape Town. 👏🏾 Automated production is the future of sports broadcasting, particularly in underrepresented regions where the cost of production can make a difference between showcasing talent and integrating data into your performance analytics.
🚀 NextXI x Spiideo. A five-year agreement bringing automated production, broadcast, video sharing and data to youth football across South Africa and the greater Southern Africa region falling under COSAFA. The first partnership of this scale @spiideo has entered into in Africa. Every fixture becomes a recorded match with data attached. ✅ Visibility and reach. Every match captured, so a performance is seen far past the fence. ✅ Commercial power. Leagues and federations gain assets that can be sold against, and clubs gain value from the players they develop. ✅ Talent and trust. Data on every fixture, so assessment stands on evidence. nextxi.co.za/blog/nextxi-spi… #NextXI #Spiideo #YouthFootball #YouthSportsMedia #COSAFA #FootballData

Great work by the @NextXI_Africa team. 👌🏾 A development league with no broadcast slot now has an audience, and a set of numbers a sponsor can price. Players and parents have matches to watch back and share, and the teams have footage for post-match review. That is the work of a Youth Sports Media Platform, and the category is moving from Leagues to Platforms. ✅ Visibility and reach. A girls' league in Gauteng found an audience it did not have before. ✅ Commercial power. Unprompted demand is the clearest proof a sponsor can be shown, and value returns to the clubs that develop these players. ✅ Talent and trust. Every performance in the pilot was captured and verified, meaning players have a record of games to refer to. NextXI-enabled orchestration connects the league, the capture, the coverage, the data and the development into one journey. The pilot is complete and the platform work continues. nextxi.co.za #NextXI #GWDL #GirlsFootball #WomensFootball #YouthSportsMedia #FromLeaguesToPlatforms

Huge appreciation to the team that’s been doing the work behind the scenes to get this pilot across the finish line. A lot of iterating, learning and perfecting. The real work starts now. #ReimaginingTheFutureOfAfricanSport one league and federation at a time! ⏳ Stay tuned for the big one!
Four months ago, GFA and NextXI started a pilot in the GWDL, the Gauteng Women's Development League, live-streaming a selection of games every weekend. The fixtures were spread across the U13s, U15s, and U17s so every team in the league was covered at least once, meaning a girl in any of those age groups could watch her own league on a stream. The final live match of the pilot closes it this week. The biggest winners are the players and their parents, who now have games to watch back and share, along with the teams that use the footage in their post-match reviews. Two pillars carried the whole thing: ⚽️ Visibility and reach - so girls' football in Gauteng found an audience it never had. 🏆 Talent and trust - so every performance was captured and verified. Youth sports media platforms are what turn a league into a property where every match can be produced, streamed and measured. The pilot ends this week, and the platform work carries on. #NextXI #GWDL #GirlsFootball #YouthSportsMedia #WomensFootball

From leagues to platforms… 😊
In every youth league, there is a parent who has asked their child's club a fair question this season. What does my child actually get out of this league? Here is the route. Your league runs the competition. AI cameras in 4K broadcast quality capture every match, live coverage goes out through our media partners, and footage and tracking context come back at club level for coaches and families. What comes out of it is a better game and a profile that travels, with highlight and player insight built to be shared with scouts, colleges and more. That is the work of a youth sports media platform, and the category is moving from leagues to platforms. ✅ Visibility and reach. A player's season can be seen beyond the postcode they grew up in. ✅ Commercial power. Value returns to the clubs that develop players, which is what keeps development properly funded. ✅ Talent and trust. We say this plainly, a profile or a clip opens the door to being seen. Selection belongs to the coach, the club and the selectors, and nothing here overrides that. NextXI-enabled orchestration connects all six steps so they work as one journey rather than six separate arrangements. The future of African football appears promising. However, as per FIFA President at the CAF Strategic Conference, further investment is required in infrastructure.
"Football belongs to everyone." 🌍⚽ The FIFA President at the CAF Strategy Conference: a child's opportunity cannot be limited by where they're born. His answer: infrastructure, coaching, competitions. Ours: turn leagues into platforms. Every match produced, broadcast and measured, so African talent shines globally, and value stays with clubs and federations. 9 of 10 African teams made World Cup knockouts. The talent is proven. The platform is next. 🌍⚽ #NextXI #AfricanFootball #CAFStrategyConference #YouthSportsMedia

This is a significant achievement for South Africa. It will serve as a model for federations across the COSAFA region to replicate. The success is underpinned by a robust league ecosystem. @COSAFAMEDIA @SAFA_net @TheRealPitso
