People often don't know when to contact their MP for help.
Here's what I can help you with and how to get in touch:
Yesterday, this Government has laid a new Private Parking Code of Practice that will put the brakes on rip-off parking charges and second-hand car scams.
It's not going to solve everything. But it's a small step to making things fair.

I am so pleased to see our St Helens Minster receive so much funding! These awards recognise the vital role historic and religious places play in our community life. These spaces have transformed our towns and need to be well loved and looked after.

Joshua Wong turns 30 today, his sixth birthday behind bars, and now faces possible life imprisonment under Hong Kong’s National Security Law.
In any normal society this young man would be applauded.

今日是黃之鋒30歲生日,亦是他身陷囹圄的第六個生日。他現時面對《國安法》控罪,最高可判終身監禁。
在任何一個正常社會,這位年輕人都會獲得讚揚。

4. What we are doing now is to explain the value of freedom to the world, through our compassion to whom we love, so much that we are willing to sacrifice the freedom of our own. I'm still learning to conquer the fear and I believe you are with me along this journey.

Proud that knife-related homicides are at their lowest level in 35 years, with knife crime down 11% under this UK Government. More than 15,000 knives and dangerous weapons have been removed from our streets.

Really pleased to see the UK Government taking further action against the money, oil and supply chains helping to sustain Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Ukraine - Letter to the Foreign Secretary about the deteriorating Humanitarian Situation in Oleshky, in Russian occupied Kherson. MP @MarieRimmer has organised a cross party letter, which I have signed, to @Real_EdMiliband @Ed_Miliband about the shocking situating in Oleshky: @FCDOHumanRights @FCDO
Text:
Dear Rt. Hon. Ed Miliband,
We are writing to ask you to urgently raise the worsening humanitarian situation in Oleshky, in Russian occupied Kherson.
As you will know, civilians remaining in Oleshky are facing severe shortages of food, water and medical supplies.
Reports indicate that around 2,000 people, including children, remain trapped in the town, with residents facing a lack of basic necessities and no safe and organised route to leave.
The presence of landmines and frequent drone attacks is making movement and evacuation increasingly dangerous.
We would appreciate hearing from you on the following questions:
• What steps is the Government taking to urge Russia to allow humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, to reach civilians in Oleshky?
• What diplomatic efforts are being made to secure safe and voluntary evacuation routes for civilians, working with the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross?
• What steps is the Government taking to raise concerns about the use of FPV drones and other attacks that are preventing civilians from accessing food, medical assistance and safe routes out of the town?
We urge the Government to use every available diplomatic channel to press for immediate humanitarian access and a safe, internationally supported evacuation of civilians.
The UK has rightly committed to supporting humanitarian access in Ukraine and to working with international partners to ensure that people can receive lifesaving assistance and leave areas of greatest danger safely.
These people cannot be left to face starvation, illness and the dangers of war without action. We would be grateful if you could urgently raise the situation with your international counterparts and let us know what further steps the Government can take to help protect the civilians of Oleshky.
Yours sincerely,
@MarieRimmer MP Member of Parliament for St Helens South & Whiston

I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.
The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.
But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.
That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.
It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.
Russia's unlawful starvation of Oleshky must end now. We've written to the Rt. Hon @Ed_Miliband to call for an urgent evacuation for all citizens.

Today marks three years since the deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust. I say since the Holocaust because, throughout history, Jewish people have been subjected to massacres and pogroms. This pernicious and ancient hatred, sometimes described as a light sleeper, feels very much awake and at large today.
We know what Hamas did on October 7th, because they filmed it and showed it to the world - proud of their barbarity and depravity. There is no justification - there can be no justification - for such extraordinary acts of evil: setting homes on fire, taking hostages, rape, killing, mutilation of bodies. I am in awe of those survivors who share their testimony with the world to confront those who would look the other way and grieve for those who did not return home.
What was so striking here in the UK was that, alongside an outpouring of solidarity for the people of Israel and the Jewish community, there was an immediate and sharp rise in antisemitism. Israel’s war in Gaza does not warrant nor justify hatred towards Jewish people or Israelis, but the fact that this spike in antisemitism took place before the war and in the immediate aftermath of a deadly attack on Jewish people in Israel is chilling.
Attacks on the Jewish community - from Golders Green to Heaton Park - have been met with greater investment in security. But our response to antisemitism requires more from each of us. Antisemitism can’t be defeated simply with higher walls and thicker doors. It is a battle of hearts, minds and souls.
Consider this: as a Member of Parliament, I go through tougher security to enter one of my local Jewish primary and secondary schools than I do to enter my own constituency office. In Britain, in this decade of the 21st century.
This is not the day to debate British foreign policy, or Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank. I know there are people affected by antisemitism - among them longstanding friends - in Britain who are very critical of my position and the position of the Government. While we do not support Israel’s occupation in Palestine, we do stand against those who want to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth and those who do not support the right of the Jewish people to self-determination. Zionism is not racism. The Jewish people have the same right to self-determination as others. We have taken action to defend Israel and defeat those who threaten innocent lives in the past and we will do so again as necessary.
Finally, I want to send a message to the Union of Jewish Students. More than 20 years ago you taught me about antisemitism and my generation of student leaders thought that the banning of student Jewish societies was a type of antisemitism confined to history. Today’s generation of Jewish student leaders are confronting a far bigger challenge than we faced. Student marches planned for this anniversary are shameful. It is vital that Jewish students do not stand alone.
Today, we all face a choice. We can be bystanders to antisemitism or we can be upstanders for the values that represent the best of this country. But be in no doubt: to remain silent is not a neutral act. It is complicity in racism.
On this anniversary those of us who are not Jewish have a responsibility to speak up, to stand against antisemitism, and to stand up for this country’s values.
Our one-size-fits-all approach to education just isn't working. @UKLabour is making sure every young person is prepared for the world of work, by expanding vocational GCSEs and creating 200,000 more opportunities for work experience.

1. Black History Month has been marked in our community for many years, including by people whose families have been part of this country for generations.
Our council should stand up for those who are vulnerable and make sure every part of our community feels heard and valued.
2. We should not judge people by their race or their creed, but by how they treat one another and by the contribution they make to the community we share. Senior figures have a particular responsibility to set an example.
I’m really pleased to see this Good Food investment coming to Knowsley giving children the healthy start they deserve. I would like to see this same vital fund offered to all councils across Merseyside in future, but this is a necessary first step! #goodfoodneighbourhoods

A new National Care Service. Greater public control of water, energy, and housing. A National Commission on Electoral Reform. Strengthening our relationship with Europe. Reforming the education and welfare system.
Today I set out a different path for Britain.
You may disagree with some or all of what I have said today. But I have given you what you often say is missing from politics.
Honesty, ideas and a clear direction for the country we all love.
If you agree with enough of what I have said, get behind this plan. And get behind each other.
It's time to draw a line.
To move beyond a decade of drift and division.
To bring a spirit of unity and positivity back to our country.
To unlock the working-class aspiration that is still there in every postcode.
To hope again.
So glad to hear of this multi-million pound investment in our naval bases. Keeping our waters safe the British way, with British industry at the heart. #LabourUK
