There were multiple reasons. I’d argue that the messy tariffs rollout was the moment a lot of voters started to decide the administration was not prioritizing affordability, a sentiment that calcified over time for various reasons…and became politically lethal.

November is Islamophobia Awareness Month.
So I just wanted to say:
I hate Islam and I will forever be against Islam and Sharia.
Be aware.

I’m generally not a “team player”, but I have done my best to hold my tongue over the last few months. Trump made a big mistake, and he should have known better. High gas prices and a war are no way to go into a midterm. Total disaster and totally predictable.

Fire Mike Johnson and John Thune yesterday. We need new leadership on the right. Brandon Gill or Tim Burchett should lead our house caucus as minority leader and Mike Lee should lead the Senate GOP. Total shakeup needed. It’s time to start planning for the future.

Vos: “Under Crowley, Milwaukee County nearly doubled its sales tax and raised property-tax levies in five of his six years. He has argued higher taxes are not a burden. Hold on to your wallets.”
Wisconsin voters have spoken, and Democrats will hold a governing trifecta for the first time in nearly two decades. Governor-elect David Crowley, Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer, and Senate Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein will set the agenda in Madison.
I congratulate them on their victory.
For years, Wisconsin has thrived under an approach that made important investments while also reducing the tax burden. That balance delivered economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and opportunity for families and job creators. Republicans remain committed to those same principles: lower costs, a lighter tax burden, and an economy that expands opportunity rather than government.
Democrats spent the campaign promising lower costs and relief for families while offering few specifics. Their records tell a clearer story. Under Crowley, Milwaukee County nearly doubled its sales tax and raised property-tax levies in five of his six years. He has argued higher taxes are not a burden. Hold on to your wallets. With full control of state government, that approach is now on track to become statewide policy.
The new Democratic leadership also lacks any real private-sector experience. Crowley built his career in campaign organizing and political staff work. Neubauer and Hesselbein have the same resume. They know politics. Being good at politics will mean paying back their powerful political allies.
Republicans know what it takes to support a family or grow a small business, and we will keep that perspective front and center.
Over the next two years, I know Republicans will stand firmly with the taxpayers and job creators who built Wisconsin’s success. Conservatives will offer constructive alternatives, demand accountability, and make sure voters can see the difference between growing government and growing opportunity.
Many newly elected Democrats presented themselves as moderates; their leadership team has a different agenda.
Wisconsin’s strengths—our workforce, our communities, and our tradition of common-sense governance—are durable. Republicans will work every day to protect those strengths, highlight what is working, and prepare for the moment when voters again choose balance and results over one-party control.
The next two years will test our resolve. They will also clarify the choice ahead. We are ready for both.
Whether the Republicans are in control, or whether the Democrats are in control, the oil companies and the food companies, pharmaceutical and military industrial complexes are all making record profits. We spend billions of dollars electing politicians that enrich themselves.

At least we now know the Dem agenda
Forget affordability - you all get what you voted for

It literally didn’t even take Democrats an hour after winning to already switch from affordability to arrest all their political opponents and seize Elon Musk’s companies
Anyone paying attention could have easily seen this coming

The people have spoken or in this case voted and while I appreciate their position I am concerned about America losing what has made it such an exceptional nation of opportunity.
God bless America 🇺🇸

You need a Hubble telescope to find any good news in this election, but the one historical fact that may give battered Republicans solace: Virtually every (not quite all) huge wave election in America since 1980 was reversed two years later
