I'm fairly publicly an atheist and I *hate* the atheist trope about how atheists help people whole Christians just pray to a fictional god and don't do anything.
The opposite is very literally true.
Christians tend to put their money and effort where their mouths are in real ways. Not all, but more than enough.
Atheists..... Don't.
I wish they did, but I know hardly any atheists who even have strong roots in their communities, let alone do stuff like foster or adopt kids, start food banks and hospitals, run orphanages, set up private schools, etc. Religious people in the US, to their credit, actually do most of that stuff.

It's incredible how much better W and W actually translated into stop motion than any of the doll characters, who are actually more important to the plot.
That's right, the title characters are essentially a B plot, that's how much of a mess this movie is

there are multiple moments in this movie - and that final fight in particular - where the artistry on display is so aesthetically overwhelming that i was instantly out of breath and moved to tears. an astonishing, once-in-a-lifetime achievement of filmmaking and storytelling that made me feel like i was falling in love with fantasy for the first time all over again.
one of the strongest arguments i’ve ever seen against anything thinking it can replace art that humans make themselves. pure magic as a movie.

Replying to @MarrloEd
Appreciate it. It all derived from listening to a few songs from an...admittedly okay band called Penguin Prison. I liked the name of one of their songs "Desert Cold" and so, kind of went from there. I'm a bit stumped on how it ends and I'm afraid of trying to make it-
