For everyone who’s interested in renewable energy this is an interesting listen. It mentions County Durham, but our Reform Council has already refused an application for a battery farm, I’m not confident that proposals for a larger farm will go through.
Here's BBC Scotland energy correspondent Kevin Keane explaining how five subsea cables will transport Scottish renewable electricity into England.
It used to be oil & gas. It's now electricity. It'll soon include water. Scotland is the most resource rich part of the UK. The Union means we're easy to exploit.

Have to admit: I really dislike some of the antics from some of our players at times, Angulo and Reinildo especially today.
Fabulous footballers, and I understand the gamesmanship element, especially away from home. I just don't like seeing it. #SAFC

I am defending a man who I know was prepared to speak out when very few were, and who lost everything as a result. He was meant to be a grim warning to anyone else who dared.
I have no doubt that Glinner has at times behaved rudely, impulsively, rashly and alienated some.
But I equally have no doubt that he has never threatened a woman with rape or death, has never encouraged a child into irreversible and harmful medical transition, has never told people to be kind and comply with harmful lies, has never put the rule of law at risk, has never been a coward.
So yes. He has my support.

How are u defending a man who spends all day harassing women??
A man who never takes no for an ans from Jk?
A man who believes women shouldn't vote
A man who hangs out w/ Right wing bigots daily demonising minorities
His misagnony is so public yet u support him 💔

After 11 years as a sports columnist at the Seattle Times, I have decided to resign. It was entirely my choice, and it was not an easy one. The impetus was the Times declining to run a column I wrote from the perspective of two female student athletes who were opposed to competing against biological males. It was one of several pieces of mine that had been spiked, and I no longer felt like I could properly do my job as a columnist. I lay out the situation in greater detail in the link below, but I want to say that I enjoyed my time with the paper, find the talent there to be immense, and have no animosity toward anyone who works there. It was just time for a change.

🚨🇨🇮 Roma see Simon Adingra as more realistic alternative to Antonio Nusa.
Sunderland value Adingra at €30M this summer.

We are finally at the point where speaking out against cheating men makes you an icon, not a pariah.
And the people shouting "bigot" at these icons look like relics from a past that no one wants to revisit.

Can you not get the actual quotes from the athlete correctly????? What kind of journalism is that? Sloppy at best, sneaky at worst.

A reminder that these people want to kill women like me simply because I'm a feminist, and because I want to preserve legal single sex spaces for women, free from biological men with male genitals.
A reminder that most Labour MPs would rather isolate and condemn women like me than support us.
A reminder that the *Women* and Equalities Select Committee has never, and will never hold an inquiry on the specific and open calls by men in balaclavas to kill women like me, a member of that committee.
A reminder that, while I am not allowed to walk to work alone, most Labour MPs think that the 'rights' of a few huge angry men who wish to occupy our spaces, and yell "punch a terf" outside my workplace, are more important than women like me.
A reminder that the Labour Party investigated and suspended women like me for liking tweets and championed the mediocre men who actively tried to have us barred.
A reminder that in 2026, this is still very much a world in which a few men are more important to most politicians than all women.

JK Rowling and Ricky Gervaise.
Both are mega-millionaire celebrities, both give most of their money away, both refuse to believe that people can change sex and are very vocal about it.
Only one of them gets inundated with thousands of death/rape threats and has had to employ tight security as a result.
Gosh, I wonder what the difference is? It's a mystery...

The BBC’s latest audience figures show it’s reaching more than half a billion people worldwide — 502 million — for the first time in its history. That’s more than 6% of the entire world’s population. It’s a huge achievement for Britain’s global influence.

Cannot even bring myself to feel angry after a loss a comprehensive as that. It’s just total disillusionment.
The fact that the ECB have let the England Test team fall into this state is just an absolute disgrace. All talk, little action.

Let’s not forget why the BBC has to cut back excellent programming. 94% of UK adults use BBC services each month, including tv, radio, iPlayer, and Online. And only 80% pay the licence fee. Is this a kind of shoplifting? Airlifting?

The ECB should just swallow their pride, admit their heinous mistake and beg Sir James Anderson for a favour, preferably on their knees.

The Supreme Court has ruled that under UK law, trans people never had the rights people like you insisted they had. You misrepresented the law and cheered on the removal of women’s rights. Trans people have lost nothing except the mistaken belief you fostered.
Today my heart is with our trans community, treated so abysmally in this country.
Draft guidance means trans people are barred from services they could previously access & inclusive service providers will be at legal risk.

If Grace Campbell & Charlie Chap something were to find themselves in same room as the FWS women &/or the Darlington nurses, they would each shrivel morally & physically as it dawned on them that in comparison to these magnificent women, they are a pair of mean and silly cyphers.
Something about that video with Grace Campbell and Charlie something:
Campbell says 'they are not aspirational, I wouldn't like to be in the room with any of them.'
I *was* in the room with them, FWS and the Darlington nurses, the other night, and, frankly, I was in awe.
I aspire to their courage, their indefatigability, their sense of solidarity and their fight for women's rights and worker's rights.
But, then, I'm just an old-fashioned socialist.
