You eventually realize intelligence isn’t IQ it’s just pattern recognition.
Keep going longer than everyone else you’ll see more patterns than anyone else.

Something i notice about brilliant people is that when they’re sick or sleep deprived or brain fogged they lose their erudition and their ability to make their thoughts concrete, but they never lose that raw intuition that makes them brilliant in the first place. Says something about the nature of intelligence I think.

Warning to my 24 year olds doing everything right:
Right by whose map? The degree, the firm, the ladder. That was a solid route into an economy that's been demolished. They're right. You're not doing anything wrong
You're just following directions to a place that doesn't exist

You have to reach the point where your fear of dying mediocre outweighs your fear of looking like an idiot. The first version of anything you do will be embarrassing, that should be obvious, but too many people let that thought keep them the same for decades on end.

the paradox of reading: the books you read will profoundly change you, even though you’ll forget the vast majority of what you’ve read.

I'm finding that AI will nitpick on things for example with contracts and make small issues look like big ones. Only your judgment comes between you and overreacting because a model told you to worry about some side issue.
The AI does not (as yet) have discernment capabilities based on long experience. This is where expertise and wisdom come in.
