A lot of us were very willing to have a debate without heat, @stonewalluk, and the reason that never happened wasn't because gender critical feminists didn't want one.
While we were trying to get you to listen to our concerns, your former CEO was telling a BBC boss that gay people not wanting to include the opposite sex in their dating pool was 'sexual racism'. While we were pointing out the homophobia inherent in gender ideology, Stonewall ambassador Alex Drummond (a bearded, heterosexual man who'd had no surgery and taken no cross-sex hormones but liked wearing skirts), was going into schools to talk to students about his 'lesbian' identity. @BluskyeAllison, who actually is a lesbian, was subject to unlawful discrimination at her place of work for tweeting: ‘Stonewall recently hired Morgan Page, a male bodied person who ran workshops with the sole aim of coaching heterosexual men who identify as lesbians on how they can coerce young lesbians into having sex with them. Page called [it] “overcoming the cotton ceiling”.’
When the UK Supreme Court upheld women's right to single sex spaces, you issued a statement expressing your unhappiness about the ruling. In her report on your unhappy influence at the University of Essex, you were found by barrister @akuareindorf to have misrepresented the law as it related to women's rights: '[Stonewall have] stated the law as Stonewall would prefer it to be, rather than the law as it is’.
In 2018, you publicly advised schools to shred a research pack saying there were risks to puberty blockers, in spite of the fact that you aren't a medical charity and that there was already credible evidence that puberty blockers are neither irreversible nor harm-free. Meanwhile you produced your own educational packs, recommending a children's book, for ages 5-9, in which the parent 'is neither a man, nor a woman – they’re non-binary.' In July 2022, Stonewall sent out a tweet that read ‘Research suggests that children as young as two recognise their trans identity'.
@thetimes has reported how you've sought to control the language used by NHS trusts and government on their social-media accounts. Organisations would get points from you for replacing commonly understood words with ideologically approved terms, eg, 'birthing parent' instead of 'mother'. thetimes.com/uk/society/arti…
In short, you took a maximalist position on gender identity ideology, which you attempted to enforce by diktat. You refused to acknowledge that you'd hitched your wagon to a cause that, unlike civil rights, gay rights or women's rights, sought to strip rights from others. You sought to curtail everyone's right to freedom of speech and belief by controlling what it was permissible to think and say, through the management and political class. You have argued against women's and girl's rights to their own spaces, their sports and to assemble without men. Your former CEO tried to shame gay women/men into dating the opposite sex if the latter claimed to be female/male.
Your mantra was 'no debate' because, like all totalitarians, you preferred slogans, bullying and infiltration of powerful institutions to talking to opponents. You appear to have had no concern for the lowly people your ideology was harming: gender confused kids, female rape victims, female prisoners, regular people hounded and investigated at their places of work for refusing to accept the new mandates on sex and gender issued from on high.
Your 'activism' has been a disaster for those trans-identified people who really do just want to get on with their lives in peace. You have besmirched the name of an organisation many of us were once proud to donate to, the charity that was partly responsible for securing the legal right of gay people to marry, which a lot of us thought would never happen in our lifetimes. The milquetoast words quoted below do not erase a decade of gender activism that has been disastrous not only for individuals but for society as a whole.
There was once a debate to be had, but until you acknowledge the direct harm you've caused, it is no more possible to debate you than to persuade a person in the throes of a drug-induced psychosis that they are not, in fact, the reincarnated Christ.

I went to this session with a fairly bog standard left wing 'stay and make a noise' argument. I'm still not convinced that's entirely wrong. But I was struck by the number of women ex-trade unionists who spoke about the depths of betrayal, disrespect, and even contempt that they've faced. I think many union leaders are isolated from their members by a kind of crisis of internal democracy - they live in a bubble and they don't have any real conception of the antipathy that is felt towards them both by women members and this who have left. This is really serious. And really bad for the labour movement.
So, reflecting.
A discussion about the failure of unions in the face of GC harassment.
@DarlingtonUnion's Bethany's talk amazing. She ended with unions have abandoned us to let's rebuild.
@RosieDuffield1 smash the unions? Yes.
@runthinkwrite distinguish between leadership and role of trade unionists "I don't need an additional HR department that I pay subs to for them to police my views"
@JimButcher2 had to leave the union for moral grounds because of their support for harming children. Set up a branch of Academics for Academic Freedom.

Man with slick hair, "I find it quite disgusting how we're talking about human beings who are genuinely.. And it's not illegal to claim asylum in a foreign country"
"Saying they're illegal immigrants.. They're asylum seekers and refugees" #BBCQT
"Illegal immigrants tend to be people who come here legally and overstay a visa, or an application. That's the majority of illegal immigrants"
"We know other countries take on a lot more refugees than we ever do"
"Calling these people: the invaders"
"Or dehumanising them so we can point a finger at them saying: you're the reason we have a housing shortage.. But we've only built 250,000 council houses since Thatcher came into power.. Before that we built 5 million"
"Why do people claim that immigrants are the problem when it's recent governments that are the problem"

Right, let's knock this on the head now. If you're calling for the security services to release details about the identities of the suspects of an ongoing terror investigation less than 24 hours after the alleged attack, you're a moron. And you have no business even pretending to be a candidate for high public office.

Apologies for the language but she’s absolutely right. It would also help if hand wash and hand lotion could be in similarly large fonts in bathrooms. #gettingolder

1. It is a mark of a civilised society that offenders, no matter how bad they are, are moved to psychiatric hospitals where psychiatrists assess they are mentally ill. You can call that "less punitive" if you like, but in a civilised society we try to treat psychopaths if we possibly can.
2. I have no idea what you mean by "certain treatments and benefits". If you've ever seen a Class A prisoner cell, some might argue they are like small flats and preferable to broadmoor.
3. It is wholly wrong for you to say the needs of criminals are prioritised over the needs of victims. Judges weight very heavily victim impact statements and a human justice system has a concept of acute mental illness as far back as 1863 or so when Broadmoor was built.
5. Transfer to Broadmoor can only happen under sections 47 or therabouts in the MHA. It is wholly wrong for you to say (entirely without evidence) he had been "offloaded". The idea the governor of Belmarsh would contemplate acting outside the statute or that would happen is ludicrous.
I urge you to to reconsider what you've posted here.

Correction - the state Nigel Farage has put us in.
All he had to do was face the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards like any other sitting MP.
But Nigel doesn’t do rules, so he created a circus instead, and it has spectacularly backfired.
The man is a wrecking ball.

I’m thoroughly enjoying just how much Nigel Farage’s millions of pounds in gifts “for his security” have left him feeling in such a state of insecurity.

Two years later it became a surprise hit and the biggest-selling jazz single ever.
