Both candidates were asked about the DOJ sending election monitors to Marion and Lake counties. Max explained that this has happened before, including under the Biden administration, and that the monitors are there to observe, not impede voting.
Beau then says it’s fine as long as it’s done in good faith and doesn’t intimidate voters.
Then he asks Max WHY the DOJ is only sending monitors to those two counties.

Our election laws are only as strong as their enforcement. Allegations like these deserve a thorough investigation, and Hoosiers deserve answers.
@MaxForIndiana has emphasized that, as Secretary of State, he WILL uphold election laws, strengthen election security, and hold those who violate the law accountable.
American elections are for American citizens.
A Vigo County resident faces felony charges for allegedly registering unlawfully, committing perjury, and voting in six elections between 2018 and 2024 despite being a noncitizen.
I commend @ToddRokitaIN and Prosecutor Terry Modesitt for pursuing these allegations.
As Secretary of State, I’ll work with Rokita to strengthen citizenship verification and enforce our election laws.
