La película se me hizo muy meh, diría que hasta es un despropósito.
Pero siempre veo que el director se queja o se frustra porque no a todos los fans les gusto la película, en lugar de hablar del buen recibimiento por parte del público general y el éxito en taquilla.

Wait, so Cregger made a profitable film but is still dissatisfied because he is not receiving universal validation and acclaim for his "interpretation" of Resident Evil?
This film is clearly just a horror film with the RE name slapped on it for brand recognition.
RE is a franchise that has spanned decades and is a staple in gaming culture.
Of course people will want a film named after it to heavily involve its lore and characters into the setting beyond a few references.
When a film that is centered around a franchise with detailed lore starts taking too many liberties it WILL make a franchise fan focus more those liberties than the film itself.
Even awful films understand this bit of common sense.
Zach Cregger says he was frustrated with the reaction to his Resident Evil movie because people spent too much time arguing about how different it was from the games.
“I was frustrated at the conversation around Resident Evil and how much of the conversation really didn’t have anything to do with the movie.”
People kept focusing on missing characters, changes to the lore and why the film wasn’t closer to the original games.
Cregger wanted to capture what it feels like to play Resident Evil rather than just copy the games’ story and characters.
He’s still proud of the movie, though, and says he made exactly the film he wanted.
