X is great because I've lived in a society that pretty much just dealt with Daylight Savings Time every year and shrugged it off and moved on with their lives and now I'm exposed to this apparently giant subsection of society where DST has COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY RUINED THEIR LIVES AND IS THE BANE OF THEIR EXISTENCE WORTH COMPLAINING ABOUT EVERY DAY.

Hate to say it but I totally agree with this perspective. This stuff didn’t just happen automatically - parents did all the planning and setup and work. The reason stuff sucks now is because the parents suck now. And I say that as a parent myself.
