Hey guys.
Seriously.
Stop fucking blackpilling.
If social media is dragging you down that fucking hard right now just turn off the fucking cell phone.
Go on a run.

I'm a storyteller.
I will tell you a story.
Not a thinly veiled allegory or analogy. Not a fable. Not a parody or a satire, or some smug little parable featuring characters "Ronald Grump" and "Alan Tusk".
No, this is a true story, and it means what it means, with no hidden symbolism whatsoever. It contains only facts, and general principles to derive from them.
It is a story about Rome.
We all know what Rome was. It was a republic, then an Empire, then nothing.
But every time we ask why, historians wish to tell us it is complicated, and that we desperately need historians, such as themselves, to sort it all out.
The decline and fall of the Roman Empire was not complicated.
The decline and fall of the Roman Empire can be explained in two words.
Cheap labor.
The Romans, as you know, had two classes, the patricians and the plebeians.
The patricians ruled Rome. But the plebeians were Rome. And the patricians forgot this.
Around this point in the story, you may be thinking you understand me already. You may think you have anticipated where I am going with this. You may think that this is going to be some general polemic about the importance of remembering the little people.
It is not. I have a very specific meaning, and I always choose my words very, very carefully.
Two words.
Cheap. Labor.
The Romans patricians, like the old and the rich of any society, owned land, and sold goods. To do this, they bought labor.
The Roman plebeians, most especially the young, sold labor. So that they could buy goods and land.
So, it should go without saying, but often doesn't, that it was in the interest of plebeians that goods and land be cheap, and labor be expensive, and in the interest of patricians that land and goods should be expensive, and labor should be cheap.
Now, markets have natural cycles. The price of every thing fluctuates up and down, looking for an equilibrium which is only ever temporary.
Sometimes goods and land are cheap, and labor is expensive. Then the plebeians become fat and prosperous, and they marry pretty girls and have lots of healthy children.
Sometimes goods and land are expensive, and labor is cheap, and patricians amass vast fortunes and build fine estates and eat honeyed dormice.
To every thing, there is a season.
But the patricians controlled Rome. Not fully or directly, not in theory, but they had money. And money buys power. Just as power buys money.
And the temptation, in the long run, became irresistible. To buy political power, and put the finger of that political power on the scales of the market.
To make sure the cheap labor stays cheap forever.
In Rome, cheap labor meant slaves. Elsewhere, it has meant other things.
In Rome, slaves kept labor cheap not only because slaves don't get paid, and can't quit, but also because every plebeian who sells labor must compete with the slave on price.
Little by little, this took away from the plebeians, not only because real wages were depressed, but more importantly because there were no seasons of labor scarcity. No cycles in the market where wages went high.
No fat seasons for the plebes, just an ever-increasing drought.
And, while the patricians controlled Rome, the plebeians were Rome. It was their blood, shed in the legions, that conquered the world. Their sweat that built the shining city of seven hills.
And their patriotism that defined what Rome was.
The patricians ruled Rome. But the plebeians were Rome, and when they ceased to bear allegiance to Rome, Rome ceased to exist, because the only thing that Rome ever was, the only thing that any city or nation ever is, is its people.
A man who has no work, a man who must compete with slaves, a man who is beaten down to want the hungriest beggar will take, is a man who cannot have a home and a family.
Not only because he cannot afford such things. But because no woman will have him. No woman will bear his children.
The ultimate expression, after all, of female lust and admiration, is "I want to have his babies".
Fewer people seem to realize that the reverse is true.
I was told once, by a man who should have known better, that Rome fell because the Romans forgot what it meant to be Roman.
Nonsense.
Rome fell because Romans knew exactly what it meant to be Roman. Which meant they knew that to be Roman meant to be replaced by slaves.
The patricians bore no allegiance to Rome, because it was cheaper to replace the Roman workers with slaves, and the Roman legions with mercenaries.
The plebeians bore no allegiance to Rome, because Rome bore no allegiance to them.
And so Rome simply ceased to be.
The outward forms hung around awhile, until the mercenaries, bearing no true allegiance to Rome, realized they didn't have to wait to be paid. They could just... take.
The patricians destroyed Rome because they thought like politicians instead of kings.
A politician buys a crown by offering the most to those whose support is most in doubt.
A king knows that crowns and thrones are only symbols, and power comes from armies of loyal men, whose loyalty must be bought with loyalty in turn. Not table scraps.
The Roman plebeians didn't want, and couldn't survive on, free bread and circuses. They needed work and land and incomes to have families and happy lives.
But no Caesar emerged in time.
Tick tock, Mr. Vance.
Tick tock.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up.
So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us."
Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026.
There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true.
But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone.
Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were:
1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel
Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.)
In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you.
The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.
If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest.
But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there.
I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Our current society is in a degenerative feedback loop with people focusing on selfish extractive behavior that not only destroys present and future value, but the very systems that keep society generative to begin with
The only path forward is not simply the abandonment and destruction of these degenerative systems, but the adoption of parallel and sovereign systems of generative interdependence
You might experience these problems on the individual level, but they require collective action and the rebuilding of group systems

Okay, if we're doing Anakin Chudwalker, and we want a coherent story instead of just hype and aura edits, the Malfoid-style "change just one thing" has to be Padme. It's the moment in AOTC where they're discussing politics in that field in Naboo.
Have her actually share Anakin's frustrations with the Republic and the broken system.
You don't have to drastically change her whole personality, it's actually good if she functions as a check on his impulsiveness and anger, but let her relate to what he's saying enough that he really trusts her and feels he can talk to her about anything.
If you change that, then years later when he's having visions of her death and Palpatine is manipulating him, he'll actually tell her about it, and she, being a politician and a lot better at understanding that world, will be the one who puts two and two together and realizes that Palpatine is playing everyone against each other.
Now you have two things that are true simultaneously: Palpatine is the source of all their problems, and the Republic is clearly broken if its system allowed that to happen in the first place.
They conspire together to hijack Palpatine's plan for themselves. The moment Palpatine kills Mace and believes he's won, Anakin strikes him down. Anakin activates Order 66, but tells the clones to capture the Jedi if possible, not exterminate them. Padme has built a political coalition in the Senate that legitimizes Anakin's mostly bloodless coup, allowing him, as the hero of the Clone Wars, to step seamlessly into the role of Emperor after he kills the Separatist leaders on Mustafar and ends the war.
Anakin knows what has to be done, and Padme knows how to make it all technically legal. The Jedi are given an ultimatum: submit to the new order and continue as its knights, or face the purge if they insist on clinging to the old, broken way. Most ultimately accept legitimate Senate authority. Those that don't get crushed by Emperor Vader and his Inquisitors.
Instead of Palpatine as a Hitler figure, we get Anakin as a Caesar figure.
Significant government purges happen. Corrupt officials and lunatics like Tarkin are quickly retired, or executed if they try to fight it. Thrawn becomes Grand Moff instead of Tarkin. He runs the military and ensures its loyalty to the throne. Padme keeps the Senate compliant. The surviving Jedi are reorganized under Ahsoka's command.
Anakin fulfills his destiny as the chosen one by bringing balance to the Force, ending the binary choice between the joyless stagnation of the light and the self-destructive hedonism of the dark by studying the path of the Bendu and the Father that runs between them.
Anakin focuses on expanding the Empire's reach across the galaxy and eliminating slavery and lawlessness. His methods are harsh, those who cannot be civilized, like the Tuskens, or who cannot be trusted, like the Hutts, are wiped out. But he isn't pointlessly cruel. He doesn't do dumb shit like enslave the wookiees for no reason or blow up planets just to prove he can. He takes Thrawn's advice and builds a highly effective normal military instead of ruinously expensive terror weapons.
The Outer Rim is brought to heel. The cartels are destroyed. The government is authoritarian but actually effective and overall quality of life in the galaxy has improved, so most people think Anakin has simply brought order and major rebellions don't occur.
Then 45 years later, the threat Anakin has been preparing for since he discovered it in Palpatine's holocrons finally arrives: the Yuuzhan Vong. This serves as the ultimate test of the system Anakin spent his entire adult life building. Old-Man-akin leads from the front, but eventually falls in battle when the Executor is boarded and Shimrra Jamaane strikes him down in a duel.
Luke, with Mara Jade as his empress, ascends the throne and avenges his father by turning back the Vong invasion. Anakin's Force Ghost smiles as his son vindicates his life's work.
Once the Vong are vanquished and the galaxy is unified and at peace, the Empire's totalitarian posture relaxes under Luke, who is of a less autocratic bent than his father was, and by the era of emperor Cade Skywalker, the system has transitioned back from a functionally absolute monarchy to a constitutional one, and structurally resembles the Fel Empire with the Jedi having been rebuilt as the Imperial Knights.

The Prime Network Scale
I have been playing around with applying a framework like the Kardashev scale to networks; to define a logical hierarchy and progression for those who share my interest in rebuilding social fabric and parallel sovereign systems. After some thought and discussion with a few good friends, here are the five progressive categories I am settling on:
The first and foundational level is the Social Network. This builds the direct connections, trust, and investment between individual members necessary for collaboration on the higher levels
The second level is the Economic Network. Building businesses and supporting them by having a range of skills and services that are covered by the network
The third level is the Political Network. This is the power that protects the economic success and provides leadership and pathways to future success
The fourth is Institutional Networks. Much like the economic network spans different services and skillsets, the institutional network covers things from education, art, science to theology, entertainment, and culture
Finally is Venture Networks. The goal is exploration and settlement of new frontiers from outer space and technological innovation to inner space and philosophical discovery
I am planning on publishing an article to flush this framework out in more fidelity, but wanted to put out a post at this stage for early feedback. Curious what you all think

in the last 48 hours there have been over 27 major cybersecurity incidents. not in a month. not in a week. in 48 hours
any ONE of these would normally be the biggest story of the year
PHP: critical vulnerability in the software running 80% of the web. severity 9.2 out of 10
Node.js: high-severity flaw letting attackers take over servers remotely. affects versions 22, 24, and 26
Java: also compromised. three of the most used programming languages on earth hit at the same time
GitLab: a perfect 10 out of 10 severity hole in every version since 2014
Railway: hosting platform compromised. API keys for OpenAI, Claude, Stripe potentially exposed
Signal: a bug that could leave your mic and camera on after you hang up
WordPress: hackers stole a plugin maker’s keys and planted backdoors on websites
LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer
and that’s not even half the list
thousands of AI agent swarms are reportedly scanning and attacking vulnerable servers right now. automated. around the clock
security researchers are saying this might be the early stages of a global cyber incident that nobody fully understands yet
if you run a website, use cloud services, store API keys on hosting platforms, or use any software built on PHP, Node.js, or Java you are potentially affected
update everything. rotate your API keys. change your passwords on critical services. enable 2FA everywhere you haven’t already

If you want to make Malfoid canon, read the following:
The Department of Education's Malfoid has reminded me of the circumstances that made Maid Marian canon to the Robin Hood legend. It may surprise you to know she is apocryphal, i.e. not part of the original story.
She's a "fanon" [lit. a Fan Canon] character, who later gained traction and legitimacy. Robin hood was originally a story about a dudebro (the original Good Guy Steve meme) out with his bros robbing evil clergymen and trying to bring justice back to the Church, in the name of the Virgin Mary.
Now? Marian and Chivalric Love are as inseparable to Robin Hood as the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Here's how that happened.
