Distant hurricanes can be deadly. Hurricanes that are far away can still create deadly rip currents and waves at the beach. Know before you go. We're tracking a new Tropical Wave located hundreds of miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
As of now, this is a very disorganized area of thunderstorms & showers. However, the NHC is giving this wave a 60% chance of tropical formation in the next 7 days.

This community cannot catch a break, as burn scars from the massive South Fork Fire have created extremely flood prone terrain. Meaning even small amounts of rain could lead to dangerous flash flooding.
