Shoutout to Ms. Eve!
BTW, that goes for both genders, and as i get older and realize how damn hard it is to be fit, you celebrate the hell out of that hard work. Proudly show off that body!
While co-writer Damon Lindelof publicly apologized on Twitter for the gratuitous nature of this five-second shot, Alice Eve herself has fiercely defended the sequence and repeatedly stated she is incredibly proud of it
When Star Trek Into Darkness debuted, audiences heavily criticized the scene where Dr. Carol Marcus strips down to her dark lingerie
While the writing and directing team copped to the fact that the moment was clumsily executed purely for titillation, Alice Eve pushed back against the exploitation narrative
She clarified that she voluntarily spent months working intensely with a personal trainer to get in peak physical shape for the scene
Rather than feeling objectified, she felt completely prepared, thoroughly enjoyed filming it, and remains confused by the continuous fan controversy surrounding it more than a decade later.
If I had been writing the MCU's version of Kang, he would have had these as his elite bodyguards. That the whole thing - guy would have had a true Marvel Cinematic Multiverse arsenal.
The Sentinels brutally killing the X-Men in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) was one of the darkest scenes in the franchise. I wonder if we'll see something this brutal and devastating in Avengers: Doomsday. #AvengersDoomsday
Yep. And for me, this was breaking that cardinal sin in storytelling of TELLING, not SHOWING. His actions already proved his humanity, he didn't have to TELL Lex(and the audience).
F**king adore this film, but this part...yeah.
I am as well. This show was a perfect example of a fun superhero story and you don't need a billion episodes. Eight awesome episodes that you can savor over and over.
Yeah, trying to retcon the AIs' source of creation in VISIONQUEST irks me a bit. I mean, you could have said the woman created a unique AI of her own instead of this retcon that Tony didn't create his AIs. We still have what one, two episodes left? Maybe a walkback?
Will always be a Spawn character to me...just like how Miracleman/Marvelman isn't a Marvel character to me.
Should be part of a current Avengers team. Was actually cool to at least see them operating on that level doing the 2000s(doing the Registration era), aiding Cap and the Secret Avengers.
Needs PURE SUPERHERO RUNS. I know folk like the "political runs", but give me a run where we have supervillains, super threats, and "super" worldbuilding - like Geoff Johns' Green Lantern and Flash runs, or Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman.
Currently watching Visionquest, my Pop reminded me about how i was looking for White Vision in THIS film because it was supposedly a sequel to WandaVision. Before then, thought this would be Dr. Strange and TVA Loki versus Kang.

The pool hall was more than a place to shoot a game. It was a neighborhood crossroads where hustlers, heroes, and informants traded information, settled scores, and tested their reputations.

The Substance is one of those films that takes you completely off guard. One moment you're wondering where this Jekyll and Hyde story is going then...WHAM!
*Sigh*
Classic MCU was awesome.
People watching Emil Blonsky walk up to 2008 Savage Hulk and ask "Is that all you got?" before getting kicked into next week need to remember three crazy details about this scene.
The only reason Blonsky was arrogant enough to trash talk the Hulk to his face is because General Ross had just injected him with a cryo preserved WWII Super-Soldier Serum right before the fight!
Even with Super-Soldier durability, Hulk barely swung his leg and still punted Blonsky 50 feet into a tree trunk, shattering his spine, ribs, and limbs so badly the hospital thought he was dead.
Because the Super-Soldier Serum healed his shattered skeleton overnight, Blonsky became obsessed with matching Hulk’s strength, leading him to mix a double dose of serum with Banner’s gamma blood to become the Abomination!
2008 Hulk didn't even use his hands, he casually toe punted a Super-Soldier across a university lawn and folded him like a lawn chair!

The Prowler, released on this day 45 years ago, gave us this stunning Tom Savini moment.
